Our flagship CSR program - #PGShiksha reflects this commitment. This year, #PGShiksha turns 20, celebrating two decades of driving continued positive impact in communities through a single-minded focus on a national priority - education. From building school infrastructure in the early years, to now broadening the scope and focusing on learning outcomes by improving foundational literacy and numeracy, P&G Shiksha is impacting over 50 lakh children from underserved communities. What better than the #InternationalVolunteerDay to kickstart the celebrations of #20YearsofPGShiksha, by bringing together two of our strongest pillars – our people and the communities we serve, live, and operate in. With nearly 500 volunteers registering, P&G employees, families, agency partners, distributor partners and NGO volunteers came together at 10 locations across the country in one of our largest volunteering drives of its kind. The volunteers engaged students through specially curated teaching modules, and invested in the learning and all round development of the students. Recently, we brought learning to life—fostering creativity, building confidence, and igniting hope for a brighter future. On December 3rd, we celebrated the International Day of People with Disabilities (PWD) with a global webcast hosted by Procter & Gamble Egypt and Procter & Gamble Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa (AMA). This event marked a significant milestone in our commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace and recognizing the incredible talents within our community. The event opened with an inspiring statement from Ahmed El Mahdy, AMA PWD Sponsor, and was co-hosted by Alaa Selim and Habiba Shalaby. The dynamic panel included our #Egypt SHINE talents - Omneya Elyamany and Zeiad Kahil, as well as PWD advocates Tarun S. from Procter & Gamble India and Hani Barghout from Procter and Gamble Gulf. Along with our esteemed guest Omar Abdelkader, an adaptive athlete/coach and two-time Guinness World Records holder, the panel engaged in meaningful discussions about disability confidence in the workplace, sharing inspiring self-advocacy stories. We showcased Egypt's stories - Yassin El Zoghby spotlighted the team's dedication in managing digital accessibility for all P&G global websites, emphasizing the value they bring to our consumers, and Ziad Abdalaziz shared his powerful motto: “Let me win, and if I can’t, let me be brave in trying!” through a touching video. From around the globe, success stories including initiatives from P&G Latin America's Mariscala Plant which enhances disability confidence and improvements in physical accessibility at our Costa Rica Business Center were shared. We heard from Susan Walker from P&G North America about the three habits of inclusive design, obtained insights from P&G Europe on creating more accessible digital content, and got inspired by this year’s Olympic and Paralympic events. The event was closed with an energetic statement by Kareem Yassin. A heartfelt thank you to the organizing team Ezgi Genc, Trevor Hutchinson, Cher Martin, Sybille Miazza, Adrian Panait, Shuruk Elwarrak, and Rhina Alvarez Garcia. As we move forward, the main theme of the day - disability confidence - reminds us that every employee has the right to advocate for themselves and represent their abilities.
