Solar panels can be built not just on roofs…   We worked with local start-up Raitan Pte Ltd to launch a pilot to test new solar pavement technology at Siloso Skywalk, an 11-storey high pedestrian bridge at the doorstep of our national monument Fort Siloso. This marks our first attempt at unconventional solar technologies, following the completion of conventional roof solar installations across 46 locations on Sentosa last year. Great that it serves a dual purpose and fits in well with the overall experience.   Our road near Sensoryscape is made from something else…   Thanks to a collaboration with Gammon Construction Limited and Magorium Pte. Ltd., a local start-up, we constructed a 124 m road near Sentosa Sensoryscape with 100% NewBitumen made from 4 tonnes of plastics waste contributed by businesses on island, including Far East Hospitality Management (S) Pte Ltd, W Singapore - Sentosa Cove, ONE15 Marina, Skyline Luge, Camelot and Sentosa Cove Resort Management. This replaces the amount of traditional crude-derived material which would otherwise be required to pave this road.     Thanks to our partners and island businesses for partnering us to test and demonstrate sustainable technologies which are important for us as a leading leisure and tourism destination.   #Sentosa #DiscoveryNeverEnds #SustainableSentosa
