Hello Health Group’s 'Menopause Survey 2024' gathered insights from 1,046 women across Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Taiwan to evaluate awareness and experiences of menopause symptoms, including the use of Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). Our survey shows that nearly all respondents experience menopause-related symptoms, with sleeplessness affecting 58% of them. Yet, only 16% turn to HRT for relief. Despite its potential benefits, awareness of HRT remains low—40% of women surveyed are unfamiliar with it, resulting in a strong preference for lifestyle changes like diet and exercise. Addressing misconceptions and increasing awareness around the benefits and risks of HRT can empower women to make more informed decisions about symptom management. Ready to explore how these insights can enhance your health communication strategies? The 'Menopause Survey 2024', conducted by Hello Health Group with 1,046 respondents across Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Taiwan, explored the cultural views and taboos surrounding menopause. Almost one-third of women think menopause is a taboo subject, with 57% saying this is because it is associated with getting older. This is particularly true for discussions with family and partners—only 47% feel comfortable discussing their menopause experience. Despite shifting perceptions, cultural and societal stigmas still limit the ability of women to seek support during this time. Breaking these barriers is key to normalizing menopause conversations and creating a more supportive environment for women. Curious about how our findings can guide your next campaign? Our 'Menopause Survey 2024'—conducted across six key markets in Asia: Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Taiwan, with 1,046 respondents—sought to gauge accessibility to menopause-related information and treatment options. Results show that only 50% of women find it easy to access reliable information on menopause, and just 39% know where to look for trustworthy resources on symptom relief options. This lack of access to credible sources can result in women relying on incomplete or inaccurate information, potentially leading to delayed treatment or mismanagement of symptoms. At Hello Health Group, we are always looking for ways to contribute to the future of healthcare. Recently, our Chief Operating Officer, Sudesh Kumar, had the privilege of participating in the 3rd edition of the 'Reimagining Healthcare in Vietnam' workshop series. This insightful workshop gathered 50 healthcare professionals and technology leaders to explore the vital question: 'How can we harness technology to enhance patient care'? Through collaborative design thinking, participants worked together to address the real-life challenges of patients, represented by personas such as Mr. Empty Rx Prescription, Mrs. Clueless About My Health, and Mr. High Cholesterol. Several transformative ideas emerged during these discussions. A key focus was the promotion of 'Universal Health Records', which aims to improve patient outcomes by ensuring that healthcare data is more accessible and interoperable across different systems. Additionally, the potential of 'Clinically Reliable AI' was explored as a tool for supporting diagnostics and enabling personalized treatment approaches for patients. Another critical concept was the shift towards 'Value-Based Care', where the emphasis is placed on aligning healthcare incentives to prioritize patient outcomes rather than just procedures. Lastly, the group discussed ways to 'Empower Patients', equipping individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to take control of their own health journeys. A central takeaway from the workshop was the "big idea" that AI could serve as a "Fairy Godmother" for healthcare, providing timely solutions that guide and support patients on their path to better health. We’re grateful to have been a part of this inspiring session alongside leaders like Chris Elkin and Nhu Vo from Doodle Design, Luke Treloar from KPMG, Hung Phan from Papaya Insurtech, and many more. For a deeper look into the strategies and insights that came from this workshop, we invite you to explore the newly released whitepaper, which captures the full scope of the ideas developed. https://lnkd.in/gqkrskQB
When my daughter was born with a hole in her heart 💔, I was fortunate to have a cardiologist in the family and well-connected friends to navigate Vietnam's healthcare gauntlet. She's now healthy and happy but not everyone has a fairy godmother to guide them on their journey. This inspired the Reimagining Healthcare in Vietnam workshop series. For our 3rd edition, we gathered 50 healthcare professionals and technology leaders to explore the topic: “How might we apply technology to improve patient care?” We applied collaborative design thinking to explore the challenges faced by real patients represented by our personas: Mr. Empty Rx Prescription, Mrs. Clueless About My Health, and Mr. High Cholesterol. We're thrilled to share the final whitepaper, which captures the insights and strategies we developed together. Some key concepts that emerged include: 🏥 Universal Health Records: Promoting data accessibility and interoperability for better patient care. 👩⚕️ Clinically Reliable AI: Leveraging AI to support diagnostics and personalized treatment. 💸 Value-Based Care: Aligning incentives to focus on patient outcomes. 🧠 Empowering Individuals: Ensuring patients have the tools and knowledge to manage their health effectively. Dive deep for the BIG IDEA centered on how AI 🤖 might be a "Fairy Godmother."🧚♀️ Much appreciation to this year's co-creators: Chris Elkin and Nhu Vo of Doodle Design, Luke Treloar of KPMG, Hung Phan of Papaya Insurtech, and my colleagues at VNG Corporation. #ReimaginingHealthcare #Innovation #HealthcareTransformation #DesignThinking #VietnamHealthcare Trung-Anh Nguyễn Dana R.H. Hello Health Group recently conducted our Menopause Survey 2024 across six key markets—Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Taiwan—with 1,046 respondents. The survey explored awareness, knowledge, and experiences related to menopause, revealing a significant challenge: only 43% of women feel well-informed about this natural life stage. Interestingly, awareness levels differ vastly by market—85% of women in the Philippines feel informed, the highest across all regions. But awareness is notably low in Vietnam (22%) and Taiwan (21%), highlighting an urgent need for localized education. This gap in understanding means many women are left navigating menopause without adequate knowledge or support, often turning to non-expert sources for guidance.
