This week the UDIA Victoria team were treated to an exclusive tour of UDIA Award winner for Urban Renewal, Morris Moor. Our team celebrations were both enjoyable and educational, as it was fascinating to learn about the tremendous work that Up Property have done to bring the precinct alive. Special thanks to Marcus Jankie and Steve Schmidt for giving up their valuable time so close to end of year, and after a competitive game of bowling, we were delighted to conclude our tour with lunch at the Stomping Ground Brewery; all located at Morris Moor. Best wishes to all our members as they wind down from another big year. We look forward to representing the industry again in 2025.

Today Tim Pallas steps down after 10 years as Victoria’s Treasurer and 18 years in public service as a Member of Parliament. It follows the release of the Government’s Budget Update last Friday, which showed the overall property tax revenue has climbed to $18.2 billion in 2024-25, or 46 per cent of total tax revenue for the financial year. While the property industry has often had differing views, we acknowledge the significant responsibility and dedication involved in his role as Treasurer over the past decade. We have enjoyed an open and frank working relationship with the Treasurer over the years. We were pleased to endorse the Housing Statement alongside the Treasurer, and we remain committed to working towards the successful delivery of its goals. We thank Mr Pallas for his service to the state and wish him well in the next chapter. We look forward to building on the strong, collaborative relationship we enjoy with the Allan Government, through the Housing Affordability Partnership, and working closely with the incoming Treasurer.
