  • Continuing the festivities, clients, designers and industry friends were invited to join our VIC team at the elegant Nick and Nora’s cocktail bar, as we close out a successful 2024. As the cocktails, champagne and conversation flowed, it was fantastic to see so many gather and raise a glass with us to the year that was. A heartfelt thank you to those who joined us, we greatly value your support and friendship across the Schiavello business and look forward to doing more great work together in 2025. • Congratulations to four more of our team members, who have also recently celebrated 25 years with Schiavello. Gerry Mourelatos began as a Furniture Consultant in 1999. He soon grew his position to manage Small Business enquiries, from single product to small-scale complete office fit outs. It was during this time that Gerry established a core group of clients, which he continues to manage and service to this day. His current role as a Client Relationship Manager in our VIC showroom sees him service key accounts across all sectors from Corporate, Education, Government and Healthcare.   Phil Corso has been a steady contributor to our Paint Shop over the past 25 years, working across a range of finishes. Nicknamed the ‘king of shark-nose', Phil is an experienced practitioner who is always willing to step in and assist on skilled jobs wherever needed.   Jason Savona began his tenure with what was meant to be a one-off casual shift within Schiavello’s Desk manufacturing department. 25 years on, Jason has now worked across every facet of our desk production process and has become a much-loved and respected member of the Desking team. Known for his positive attitude and work ethic, Jason’s current role sees him working within the Desking Store where he picks and prepares components ready for assembly.   Sajet Sulcev also joined Schiavello as an agency casual before becoming a permanent member of the Panels team. During his tenure, Sajet has been involved in all aspects of the panel production department, from the machine shop, fabric laminating, panel assembly, window assembly and most recently assembly of external cladding.   Thank you to each of these gentlemen for their hard work and commitment to our business and their individual teams, your efforts are deeply valued. #25years #teammembermilestone #schiavellofurniture #schiavello

  • Construction Director Christopher Schiavello joined Property Council of Australia in a critical discussion on Psychological Safety recently. Supporting employee and contractor mental health is critical to our business, even in the ever changing workplace environments of our diverse business, which includes construction and development sites, manufacturing facilities and our offices. Creating environments where our people feel safe and supported has been one of the foundations of our business for decades, and we look forward to doing so even more in the future.

Last month, Chief Enabler Christopher Schiavello was invited by Property Council of Australia to discuss Psychological Safety on Construction sites and what that means for people from a diverse background. Joined by Fiona Fox, Arthur Papagiannis and moderated by Amanda Clements, we discussed the need for all people, to feel safe and included at work, a key principle of mental health. In 2025, we will be releasing our starter kit as a free resource to assist business, be it on a building site or in a corporate office. The best people you can have in a business, are the ones already in it. It is critical we create spaces that make them feel supported so they can thrive. We even discuss the link between resilience and psychological safety and how they are correlated. Thanks MinterEllison and Ratio Consultants for hosting us on such an important topic. #psychologicalsafety #mentalhealth #construction #lgbtq #resilience #inclusion

  • We are proud to be supporting the 10x10 Philanthropy event in Sydney tomorrow evening.    10x10 has a proud track record of supporting Australia’s most promising early-stage not-for-profits, connecting them with funding and opportunities to enable them to grow and become sustainable. To date, 10x10 has engaged more than 15,000 young people and raised $5.5m+ AUD to more than 400 social purpose organisations.    On the night, three of Sydney’s most innovative change-makers will take the stage to pitch for support. Their incredible projects include bridging the gaps in recovery support for survivors of domestic and family violence; closing the higher education and employment gap for First Nations students after high school; and helping mobility-impaired people during rehab, using the country's first neuro-responsive exoskeleton.    For more information and to purchase a ticket, visit https://lnkd.in/gmMuuaJ. • Our QLD showroom recently hosted an exclusive end-of-year event in partnership with global flooring brand Tarkett. The ‘Designing for Circularity and Product Design Showcase’ gave designers and industry partners the chance come together and learn more about new innovations from each brand, particularly in relation to circularity in the workplace and the broader design industry.    The evening also served as a chance for guests to learn more about ColourLab Volume 4 – our latest range of materials and finishes.    Thank you to all who joined us, we look forward to working together into 2025! #industryevent #circularity #workplacedesign #productdesign #ColourLab #tarkett Cecilia McMichael Debora Abreu Tiffany Blandford Marko Sanovic
