Our QLD showroom recently hosted an exclusive end-of-year event in partnership with global flooring brand Tarkett. The ‘Designing for Circularity and Product Design Showcase’ gave designers and industry partners the chance come together and learn more about new innovations from each brand, particularly in relation to circularity in the workplace and the broader design industry.
The evening also served as a chance for guests to learn more about ColourLab Volume 4 – our latest range of materials and finishes.
Thank you to all who joined us, we look forward to working together into 2025!

🔒📚Unveiling the Future of Organisation – The Aesthetics of Steel: Modern and Sleek Locker Designs 🔒
As we continue to embrace minimalism and functionality in our workspaces and public areas, steel lockers are stepping up, combining security with sophistication. Gone are the days of the bulky, industrial storage units; today's steel lockers are all about blending seamlessly with their environment, merging practicality with style.
🌱💡 But it's not just about looks - sustainability is also key. Modern steel lockers are often made from recycled materials and are fully recyclable at the end of their life, aligning with the #EcoFriendly ethos that's crucial in today's design choices.
📸 We've seen some incredible installations recently that truly push the boundaries of what we expect from locker design. Sleek silhouettes that reflect our drive for order and tranquility in our busy lives.

PRIME Workshop: Sustainable Material Choices in Design 🌱 ♻️
Subject-matter experts from PRIME Members met recently in London to discuss sustainability in material selection when designing bespoke interiors and furniture and more generally in the construction of super-prime residential properties in the UK.
We were joined by representatives from Ideaworks, Weldon Flooring, Silverlining Furniture, LA London, and Winch Design to discuss how it is they are embracing sustainability in their organisations and, in particular, about choosing ‘sustainable’ materials and putting sustainable alternatives forward for consideration.
✅ Defining Sustainability:
The discussion revealed that sustainability encompasses environmental, social, and commercial factors. While UN Sustainable Development Goals provide a framework, assessing materials against these criteria remains complex and time-consuming. A key insight was the need to balance transportation impact with production sustainability—a local material may not always be the greener choice.
✅ Innovations and Alternatives:
Participants showcased materials like leather made from leaves, cactus, and pineapple, alongside modular products designed for reuse. Trade shows and sample libraries were highlighted as vital resources, with a shift away from unsustainable choices like shagreen.
✅ Testing and Marketing:
Testing sustainable alternatives for durability and compatibility is critical before implementation. Internally, success stories and CPD sessions help organisations share knowledge and align teams. For clients, storytelling that emphasises craftsmanship, heritage, and innovation were proven to drive engagement with sustainable options.
🖇️ Conclusion:
The path to sustainability requires more than new materials—it’s about rethinking practices and priorities. From using narrower oak planks to mixing sustainable and traditional materials in cabinetry, incremental changes can lead to meaningful impacts. Embracing sustainability is a collective effort, requiring collaboration across teams, clients, and supply chains. Together, we can build designs that last for generations while respecting our planet.
