NSW Ports is pleased to announce the release of our FY24 #SustainabilityReport, which shows more significant progress on the targets outlined in our 2022 Sustainability Strategy. This includes: the completion of our #Scope3 emissions reduction road map; the registration of a new #SolarPower station at our Enfield Intermodal and Logistics Centre; and the support of 25 #Community groups and initiatives through community grants and sponsorships throughout the year. We remain on track to meet the targets set out in our 2022 strategy and look forward to working with our stakeholders to build on this progress during FY25. It was all hands on deck at Port Botany last week as NSW Ports staff joined the team from Port Authority of New South Wales to support the annual packing of Christmas gift bags for #Seafarers. The team worked with our friends at Stella Maris and The Mission to Seafarers - Sydney to fill 1800 gift bags full of caps, shirts and souvenirs, which will be given to seafarers who will be at sea over the festive season. Thank you to Sister Mary for hosting us and Port Authority Marine Pilot Michael Kelly for bringing the port community together to support such a great initiative. #Ports #Shipping #SeafarerWelfare

We are proud to be a finalist in three categories at this week’s DCN - Daily Cargo News Australian #Shipping & #Maritime Industry Awards. Port Kembla has been named a finalist in the #Port or #Terminal of the Year Award, while our joint project with Patrick Terminals, Project SABRE, has been nominated for the #Safety Award. Finally, our CEO Marika Calfas has been nominated along with our partners in the inaugural #Seafarer Welfare Fund, which is up for the Seafarers Welfare Award. Good luck to all this year's finalists and thank you to the team at DCN - Daily Cargo News for hosting the awards again this year.

We were pleased to be on hand to support one of our 2024 #Community Grant Recipients, Illawarra Wheelchair Basketball, at its annual festival over the weekend. The tournament, which attracted 90 local and interstate players from juniors right through to Australian Paralympians, is a highlight on the state's wheelchair basketball calendar. Earlier this year, Illawarra Wheelchair Basketball received a grant from NSW Ports to purchase a new wheelchair to add to their fleet as they look to attract more younger participants to the sport. Thank you to Brian and the team for hosting us and congratulations to everyone who took part this year! Thanks to Conservation Volunteers Australia (CVA) for hosting a team of volunteers from NSW Ports and our Port Botany tenants at Sir Joseph Banks Park this morning. We've been partnering with CVA for the past six years to restore endangered habitat in the park and collect pollution along Port Botany beaches and rivers. This morning's event saw volunteers weeding areas around recently planted native trees and building dreys for the ringtail possums who inhabit the park. #community #environment #sustainability

Our CEO Marika Calfas, GM of Commercial and Business Development Campbell Mason and Business Development Consultant Joshua Lawrence were delighted to attend the annual Fletcher International Exports Pty Ltd Pre-harvest Meeting in Dubbo last week. The event is a great opportunity to catch up with growers ahead of the upcoming #Harvest and discuss the current state of play for global #SupplyChains. Thank you to Melissa, Roger and the team at Fletcher International Exports Pty Ltd for hosting us again this year. #Exports #Agriculture #RegionalNSW

As #BiodiversityMonth draws to a close, we’d like to recognise our friends at Conservation Volunteers Australia and the great work they do to restore local #Ecosystems and empower the local #Community to get involved in conservation in the Botany area. We’ve been partnering with CVA since 2018. This has helped their team deliver programs to plant 13,515 native species, collect and remove more than 818 kilograms of rubbish from Botany Bay and weed 3.7 hectares of land to make space for native #Biodiversity to flourish. This important work is helping create a legacy of nature conservation and community engagement to benefit the environment and people for years to come.

Happy #WorldMaritimeDay 🚢 ⚓ Today, we recognise the important role the #Maritime industry plays in moving people and #Cargo safely across waters all over the world. This year’s theme Navigating the Future: Safety First! reflects the important work of the International Maritime Organization and the industry globally to improve maritime #Safety and #Security, protect the #MarineEnvironment and consider the regulatory processes required to safely navigate the changing technology landscape. Here at NSW Ports, the safety of our team, tenants, #Port users and the #Community members using our public areas, is our number one priority. When you are on site, please remember to observe the safety procedures and listen to the instructions of our team to ensure your own safety and the safety of the people around you. #Shipping #PortOperations
