Outside Ideas recently completed the landscaping works for the Port Dock Railway Line Project for the Public Transport Projects (PTP) Alliance. This project re-established the spur line and constructed a new train station and bus interchange. Outside Ideas was fortunate enough to also deliver the hard and soft landscaping for this project. The station plaza creates a connection between the carpark and the platform and features bespoke furniture constructed from recycled timber, in situ concrete seats, pavements and soft landscaping. This was a great opportunity to continue our work on PTP Alliance projects with McConnell Dowell and to play a role in delivering quality infrastructure in South Australia.

🚢 And it’s here! The Jack-Up Barge has officially arrived at the Mardie Project! 🙌 Thanks to McConnell Dowell it’s been a quick and smooth process. The barge is now positioned near the end of the 2.4km jetty and will soon be moved alongside it to help us apply the finishing touches. It’ll also play a key role in dismantling the cantilever traveller and installing the jetty head. We can’t wait to see the final structure come together!

These two massive concrete tanks are sludge digesters, and over the last year they've reached their full height of 16m 🏗️ The tanks are part of Te Whare Wai Para Nuku, a new waste minimisation facility for Wellington City Council (TAG), an innovative wastewater minimisation solution, and the first of its kind in New Zealand. Inside these tanks is where the digestion process will take place, helping minimise wastewater sludge volumes. Next year the tanks will be fitted out with mechanical equipment, including "gas bags" to capture the biogas produced by the digestion process. The gas will be used to heat steam and provide power for the new facility.
