🎁 Our people really know how to build things, but they're not bad at wrapping presents either! From our project teams on the Upper South Creek Advanced Water Recycling Centre to South Australia's water infrastructure teams working with Guidera O'Connor and Victoria's Building Team - we're bringing the spirit of the season to some of the social enterprise partners and charities we support in the community. We're thrilled to be able to give generously this festive season to Hope Street Youth and Family Services to bring cheer to homeless children and also help fit out new refuges across Melbourne and in Whittlesea with kitchen appliances and furnishings. Donations of food and toys will also go to Catherine House Inc which provides support for women escaping homelessness and domestic violence in Adelaide. And the The Salvation Army Australia will receieve a bundle of donations and gifts to give to those less fortunate in Western Sydney. It's part of the legacy that John Holland strives to leave in the communities we're working in. 🤔 Q: What do these objects all have in common? 🚰 A: They were all filtered from wastewater at the Wollongong Water Resource Recovery Facility! This water treatment plant serves 200,000 residents across 71 square kilometres that take in Port Kembla, Bellambi, Wollongong and Dapto - with local high school students lucky to be hosted by our Delivering 4 Customers (D4C) Joint Venture recently. D4C is undertaking significant works in the Wollongong area and has partnered with local schools to help students understand the opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) careers in the water industry. The Dapto High School students were given a comprehensive tour of the plant that processes almost 50 million litres of water every day - including removing toy cars and dummies! 🏗️ What a way to lift to the end of the year! The M1 Pacific Motorway extension to Raymond Terrace project has marked another milestone with the completion of nine girder lifts over the New England Highway - all part of the construction of a 2.6-kilometre viaduct over the Hunter River. A total of 699 girders are required to build the viaduct with 109 now in place. We're proud to announce John Holland will partner with Ausgrid to deliver EnergyCo's Hunter-Central Coast Renewable Energy Zone (HCC REZ) project. ⚡The project involves upgrading the existing electricity network and the construction of two new substations to allow connections to a range of renewable energy sources - a significant enabler for the Hunter region’s clean energy future. The delivery solution minimises the impact on the community and environment while delivering the capacity to transfer more than 1 GW of renewable energy. We're proud that Kadyn Drainage has now secured certification as a Social Enterprise from Social Traders - in recognition of its commitment to positively impacting the lives of disadvantaged young people through training and employment. Adding a new string to its water, sewer and stormwater services, Kadyn Drainage has now added a Certificate III in Civil Construction and Plant Operations for its employees via its new 'Traden' Trade and Construction School RTO.
