  • The Isle Waterfront at Newstead by Mirvac is a 27-storey residential development rising 90 metres above Brisbane’s riverside skyline. As structural engineers on this project, we’ve crafted a design that balances structural efficiency with the demands of high-rise residential construction. The building’s reinforced concrete structure integrates post-tensioned slabs, optimising material use while enabling extended spans that reduce the need for internal columns. This approach enhances flexibility for residential layouts and supports open, uninterrupted living spaces. A reinforced concrete core provides lateral stability, effectively managing wind and seismic loads common to the Brisbane area. Given its waterfront setting, the foundation design addresses variable ground conditions and potential water table fluctuations. Deep bored piles anchor the structure, ensuring stability and mitigating settlement risks. The Isle Waterfront is an example of our commitment to delivering durable, efficient designs that enhance Brisbane’s urban landscape while meeting the unique challenges of riverside development. #TheIsleWaterfront #StructuralEngineering #ResidentialDevelopment #HighRiseConstruction #BrisbaneProjects #HeraEngineering #PostTensionDesign #Mirvac

  • We're excited to share our involvement in Gaia, an iconic double-tower development at Kangaroo Point in Brisbane! Partnering with Pikos Group and DKO Architecture, we're bringing this ambitious vision to life – two 15-storey towers with 6 levels of basements, integrated into an amazing one-acre inner-city parkland. Our structural design features post-tensioned slabs with an in-situ jumped core, allowing for efficient and robust construction. The towers also include precast elements, adding to both the aesthetic and the buildability. The podium level, with its intricate design, brings a unique structural challenge that we're thrilled to tackle. The project has started on site with piling and civil works currently underway. This project is a testament to innovative design, engineering excellence, and the potential of urban living spaces to integrate with natural environments. We're proud to be part of a development that will redefine living in Kangaroo Point. Stay tuned as we continue this journey – we can't wait to see Gaia rise! #KangarooPoint #Gaia #StructuralEngineering #BrisbaneDevelopments #PostTensionedSlabs #PrecastDesign #DKOArchitects #PIKOS #UrbanLiving #EngineeringTheFuture

  • First Footings Poured at Woolworths Bullsbrook Site The Woolworths Bullsbrook project is officially underway with the first set of footings poured on site. This retail development stands out with its intricate single-storey layout, anchored by a complex steel roof system featuring large cantilevered canopies. These structural elements play a key role in delivering an accessible, modern space designed to enhance the retail experience. This project’s single-storey format belies its structural complexity. The cantilevered roof design presented unique engineering challenges that required a tailored approach to detailing and material efficiency. Every element of the roof system has been strategically engineered to ensure seamless integration with the architectural intent, optimising the project’s budget without compromising on quality. Our team at Hera Engineering is proud to contribute our expertise to realise Woolworths Bullsbrook, reflecting our focus on delivering efficient and cost-effective solutions for retail structures. We’re eager to continue the journey and see this project take shape. #WoolworthsBullsbrook #RetailEngineering #StructuralDesign #ConstructionUpdate #HeraEngineering

  • Hera Engineering is thrilled to support Canberra Airport Corporation’s transformative project at 60 London Circuit in Canberra's vibrant city center. Designed by JPW, this development stands out with its four distinctive towers, each tailored to different uses, yet unified over a shared podium that brings both structural efficiency and aesthetic continuity to this iconic site. Our structural design solution employs in-situ concrete cores paired with post-tensioned slabs—a combination chosen to optimize both stability and construction efficiency across the site. With two basement levels founded directly on rock, our foundation approach is crafted to adapt to Canberra’s unique geotechnical profile, ensuring that the entire structure is grounded securely for long-term performance. This project not only showcases advanced engineering but also Hera Engineering's commitment to enhancing urban environments through robust and sustainable design. We look forward to breaking ground early next year, as our team prepares to bring this ambitious vision to life in the heart of Canberra. #StructuralEngineering #Canberra #HeraEngineering #JPWArchitecture #InSituCores #PostTensionedSlabs #RockFoundations #UrbanDesign #ConstructionUpdate

  • Great to see Cirque Duet apartments in Perth rapidly reaching completion. Hera Engineering's partnership with ERBEN Icon and MJA Studio saw us undertake structural engineering, post-tension design, and managing temporary works for this 21 storey development. Our engineering strategies were crucial in achieving a streamlined construction process for this 21-storey development. By minimising the number of transfer elements in the building’s design, we not only reduced the complexity and potential points of failure in the structure but also significantly cut down on material costs. We can't wait to see the future residents enjoying their beautiful new home. #HeraEngineering #StructuralDesign #PTDesign #CirqueDuet #Erben #IconConstruction #MJAStudio #PerthLiving

  • The 71 on Garfield project is a 42-storey residential tower located in Gold Coast, designed by DBI for Iris Capital . This slender reinforced concrete structure stands at 150 metres tall, with a challenging 12:1 slenderness ratio. As the structural engineering consultants, we addressed the lateral stability requirements essential for maintaining comfort levels for the building's occupants. This was achieved through carefully planned lateral stability systems, optimised for a tower of such height and slenderness. The project includes six basement levels to be constructed using a diaphragm wall (D-Wall) system to manage water ingress due to its beachfront location. To expedite construction, the basement will be built with a top-down construction technique. The development, comprising 51 apartments and a two-level beach house, aims to offer luxurious coastal living with a range of premium amenities, including private plunge pools in select residences. #71onGarfield #HeraEngineering #SlenderBuilding #GoldCoastLiving #StructuralDesign
