As we approach the festive season, the MATES WA team have been busy visiting sites across WA and the Perth metro area, reinforcing the support available to workers throughout the Christmas period. Earlier this week, we delivered multiple toolbox talks to the team at Hanssen Construction at Garden Towers as well as the Head Office in Hazelmere. With a focus on staying safe over the Christmas period, we highlighted the importance of staying connected over the Christmas break. A special shoutout to Hanssen for organising a translator, ensuring their diverse workforce received these important messages. It's inspiring to see the message of mateship being shared widely across their team, and the international legends within it! Some workmates may be far from their family and loved ones at this time of year, let's make sure no one feels alone. Construction continues to progress at our East Perth development, Garden Towers, thanks to the team at Hanssen Construction. The $270 million single-stage project will comprise 331 apartments and 1,283m² of ground-floor commercial tenancies which includes the repurposing of the heritage-listed, former Materials Science Building. A range of resort-style facilities will be included at Garden Towers to enhance the lifestyles of its residents, including the Level 36 Skydeck which features a bar, multiple lounges, a rooftop dining room and private glamping. With 2024 coming to a close, Hanssen Constructions proudly completed this years achievements with supplying 658 apartments to the Perth market - showcasing Civic Heart (Perth’s largest and tallest residential development), Aurora and The Point. With this being an excellent result for our Client: Finbar, it also shows the focus of the Hanssen teams to deliver all of these projects on time. Notwithstanding these achievements, we are now well into the builds that will be delivered in 2025, being Garden Towers being a further 331 apartments in two towers 37 and 25 storeys alike with progress this year completing up to Level 6 Podium East Tower with a forecast of 50 weeks to complete. We have also started earthworks and piling at the Belair project in Belmont with this being a 10 storey development with 196 apartments also to be completed in 2025. This will provide a further 658 apartments to the Perth market with a further development of Lot 1000 Rivervale most likely to start in late 2025 providing a further 143 apartments. Our landmark South Perth project, Civic Heart, took home the award for WA Apartment Campaign of the Year last night at the REA Group 2024 Excellence Awards. Powered by realestate.com.au data, the award recognised excellence in marketing an off-the-plan apartment development. Through our efforts, Civic Heart achieved $304.5m in sales across 252 apartments and 18 commercial tenancies prior to completion. The Apprenticeship Program at Hanssen Construction has produced yet another Tradie with Callum Lloyd completing his Carpentry Apprenticeship commencing as a Tradie over at Garden Towers Project last week! 👏 👏👏 Callum was the very first Apprentice to land on AT238 Project back at the start of 2021 and has been a super reliable, hardworking and consistent Apprentice with us the past 4 years who has made the long commute daily from Mandarah were he lives to the city every day without missing a beat!! We have been able to rotate Callum through most parts of Carpentry aspects at Hanssen from Structure / Windows / Artwork and Finishing which is the lane he enjoys the most. Callum wants to stay with Hanssen as a tradie to keep learning and improving his skill set. We are all very proud of Callum for achieving his goals to complete his Apprenticeship and become a Tradie and we look forward to seeing him to continue to learn the trade and hopefully taking a new apprentice or two under his wing in the new year!
