Appreciation post to the amazing frontline workers at Dawn House inc. These are just some of the incredible women working every day to create a safe and healing environment for women and children over Christmas. These incredible front line workers consist of Domestic and family Violence intervention worker, Dv counsellors, housing officers and housing pathways case managers and other important roles to keep us running. They are working through the busiest time of year and doing all they can to ensure that our women and children have safe and supported over the Xmas periods. We are at absolutely capacity and it is so hard turning people away when the need is so high. Please remember DFV does not take a Christmas break sadly. This is a huge step forward in our mission to support women and children escaping domestic and family violence. We are thrilled to expand our programs and provide essential services that empower and uplift those in need. The new Counselling Service will offer a safe space for healing, support, and guidance, helping individuals regain their strength and rebuild their lives. This past Saturday, we held a fantastic planning day to shape our future with an updated Strategic Plan and Marketing Plan! With the help of our dedicated Board members, our amazing CEO Debbie Reeves, and our fabulous staff, we made incredible progress. One of the highlights? We’re planning our very first ‘Friends of Dawn House’ stakeholder event - stay tuned for more details! As we close another financial year, our work at Dawn House carries on with unwavering dedication and passion. We would like to take a moment to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our incredible donors who have stood by us over the last financial year. Your kindness and commitment have been the backbone of our programs, allowing us to operate smoothly and efficiently. You may know that Dawn House offers emergency accommodation for women and children facing domestic and family violence. But there's so much more to what we do. We assist with small things like house moving costs, or new car tyres, we arrange lawn mowing, and provide clothing and toiletries for those arriving at the shelter with nothing more than the clothes on their backs. Our fabulous staff take special care providing counselling programs and fun activities to support young children who have experienced traumatic events. All of this, and more, is made possible through the grants we receive and the generous donations from compassionate people in our community. We are deeply grateful to each and every one of you. With this change in leadership, we remain steadfast in our commitment to our mission to provide a safe place for women and children experiencing family and domestic violence.
