Wrapping up 2024 🌟   What a year it has been! From the impacts of the floods to launching new routes, making upgrades to our International Terminal and everything in between, we're proud of how far we've come in 2024. 🙌   None of this would have been possible without the support of our incredible and resilient community. Thank you for being part of our journey!   See you in 2025! 🎆   #NewYear #CairnsAirport #Resilience #Community

  • COMMUNITY | The Cairns Airport team rallies together every festive season to support the important work done by Shelter Housing Action Cairns (SHAC).   SHAC is an established not-for-profit organisation within the Cairns region, dedicated to eliminating homelessness, and helping families on their path to a secure future.   This year, the Cairns Airport team gathered 30 large hampers filled with essential items and other goodies, which will be delivered to local families over the Christmas period.   Thank you, SHAC, for your commitment to our community.   #support #community #cairns   sally watson Andrea Ferrier

  • GIVING I We were truly blown away by the incredible nominations we received for our annual ‘Cairns Airport Making Christmas a Little Brighter’ $25,000 giveaway campaign. This initiative aims to support five lesser-known local charities, not-for-profit organisations and community and sporting groups who do amazing things across the Far North Queensland region.   After extensive review, we are excited to announce the five recipients of this year’s $5,000 donation:     🌟 Sailablity Cairns Inc - This organisation enhances the lives of people with disabilities through sailing and other on-water activities. Their donation will go towards maintenance and refurbishment of their boats for the 2025 operational year. 🌟 Mareeba Animal Refuge - A dedicated shelter rescuing hundreds of dumped and abused pets every year. The funds will help cover veterinary care, emergency surgeries and the desexing of animals brought in.  🌟 Gordonvale Bowls Club - A small community-focused club offering its hall for wakes, meetings, and events. The donation will assist in restoring their disability access ramp.    🌟 Redlynch Strikers United Soccer Club - A football club that provides pathways for players from grassroots to senior levels. The donation will improve security measures at their premises following recent burglaries, damages, and theft. 🌟 She Shed Cairns Inc – This not-for-profit organisation offers a safe, welcome space for women of all ages to engage in meaningful projects. The funding will contribute to installing an automated door to enhance accessibility for women with disabilities and mobility impairments.    Congratulations to all deserving recipients! The work these organisations do in our region is truly inspiring and selecting just five was not an easy task! We look forward to continuing this campaign again in 2025.   Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas, safe holiday season and Happy New Year! #Christmas #Giving #CairnsAirport #CommunitySupport
