🌟 Recruitment Trends to Watch in the UAE for 2025 🌟 First day back in the office, coffee in hand and before diving into the day, I wanted to share some of my predictions for recruitment in 2025: 1️⃣ Emiratisation Remains a Top Priority: Programs like Nafis will continue driving UAE Nationals into private sector roles. Businesses will need to step up, meet their targets, and stay compliant to avoid fines. 2️⃣ Hybrid Work Is Here to Stay: Flexibility isn’t just nice to have—it’s expected. While fully remote roles might not be sustainable for all (I personally believe they don't work), hybrid models will dominate across industries. 3️⃣ RPO and Project Recruitment Are on the Rise: Companies are leaning more on Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) to streamline hiring. At Mackenzie Jones Solution, we saw a significant increase in demand for this model in 2024 and I expect that trend to grow even more this year. 4️⃣ Specialised Talent in High Demand: Industries like tech, fintech and healthcare will continue to compete for skilled professionals, driving up demand for niche expertise. 5️⃣ Flexible Hiring Models: Freelance, project-based and contract roles are becoming the go-to for many businesses. With freelance visas on the rise, we’ll see even more companies embracing flexible hiring strategies. 2025 will be another exciting year for recruitment in the UAE. The old transactional approach is fading fast and forward-thinking strategies are taking the centre stage. Wrapping Up 2024: Wins, Losses & Lessons Learned As the year draws to a close I’ve taken a moment to reflect—celebrating the wins, acknowledging the losses and embracing the lessons that have shaped us this year. Wins 🏆 1️⃣ Welcomed 11 new team members to our growing MJ family. 2️⃣ Secured 6 major client accounts for MJ solutions, strengthening our partnerships. 3️⃣ Stepped into the role of Managing Director and kick-started Mackenzie Jones Solutions. 4️⃣ Witnessed a consultant earn their first ever commission—a proud milestone! 5️⃣ Gave our office a fresh new look, complete with a pool table! Losses 💼 1️⃣ Said goodbye to 3 valued team members, one relocated to Europe, another found a role we couldn’t match and one departure was a tough but necessary decision. 2️⃣ Faced over 700k AED in lost revenue from last-minute client/candidate withdrawals 3️⃣ Downsized our office space—but not for financial reasons. This was a conscious choice to embrace our flexible work-from-home culture! Lessons Learned 📚 1️⃣ Customer-Centric Always Wins: The customer is always right—it might sound cliché but every complaint is an opportunity to improve. Listen, apologise and work harder to exceed expectations. 2️⃣ Focus on Value, Not Volume: Winning 100 roles but filling only 5 damages your reputation. Choose clients who value your partnership and deliver quality over quantity. Learn to say no! 3️⃣ Lead with Integrity: Recruitment isn’t a free service but sometimes it’s about doing the right thing. Helping candidates in challenging situations, even when there’s no immediate commercial return, brings long-term rewards. As we step into the new year, I’m excited to build on these lessons, continue serving our clients and candidates to lead with purpose. Hey, As we are nearing the end of 2024, I am excited to share that I've decided to write an article in both English and Arabic this time.
