We kicked off an exciting week at the Indian Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB), focusing on gender-responsive and sustainable urban mobility solutions. Inspiring talks and challenge pitches from industry leaders set a dynamic tone for innovation and collaboration between Germany and India.
The day commenced with an introduction by Mr.Siddharth Bhasin, the UMBI II facilitator, who laid the groundwork for a week of collaborative problem-solving. Key welcome addresses were delivered by Mr Manjunath Sekhar (GIZ India), Mr Achim Burkart, Consul General of Germany in Bangalore, Ms Pamela Baijal (BMZ), Dr Anna Hochreuter (Berlin Senate), and Ms Anja Glatzel (BLP, GIZ), who emphasised the importance of sustainable and inclusive mobility solutions through cross-border partnerships.
Mr. Suyog Sunil Risbud, Sprint Master from Futuring Now studio EHQ, introduced participants to the sprint format and objectives, setting the stage for a productive week ahead.

The closing session, "Urban Mobility for Women and Their Safety in India," led by Ms. Neethu (GIZ), provided key insights into the challenges and opportunities of ensuring women's safety in urban transport.
𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐔𝐌𝐁𝐈: The Urban Mobility Berlin India (UMBI) project is a joint initiative aimed at creating sustainable, climate-friendly, and gender-responsive urban mobility solutions. Funded by the Berlin Senate and supported by BMZ and GIZ, UMBI serves as a vital bridge between key urban mobility stakeholders in Berlin and India.
