Info

MR: THE POWER BEHIND POWER We at MR have been writing our success story in the world of energy technology for more than 150 years. Today, MR products regulate more than 50% of the worldwide power supply. Our company consists of Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen GmbH (MR) and more than 27 subsidiaries and 10 joint ventures globally. In the past financial year, more than 3,800 employees produced a turnover of 850 million euros. Our core business is the regulation of power transformers. This is done above all with the aid of tap changers, which adapt the transmission ratio of the primary to secondary winding to changing load ratios and, together with additional, innovative products and services, ensure an interruption-free power supply. Other major divisions include the construction of high-voltage testing and diagnostic systems as well as the manufacture of composite insulators. • Our power grids are changing. To meet the challenges of the energy transition, direct current (DC) is becoming an essential element in modern power grids. From integrating renewable energy sources like wind and solar to facilitating long-distance power transmission, DC technology is redefining the way we distribute and use electricity. ➡️Explore how DC technology is being implemented across grid levels, from low-voltage applications to large-scale energy systems in our video: https://lnkd.in/eKcs-Kyq

  • Ending the year with nothing but the best: The online edition of our customer magazine #ONLOAD is live and once again offers lots of exciting customer stories and interesting insights into the world of Reinhausen. 🤩 The highlights from this issue: ▪️ Made in and for the USA: With ETOS® MD-IV, Reinhausen has developed a digitization solution for power transformers tailored to the US market. ▪️ Strong protection: The new BPS - Burst Prevention System® from MR makes transformers even safer. ▪️ Retrofit in the substation: How the grid operator MITNETZ STROM is digitizing its transformers in a retrofit project. 📖 We wish you an enjoyable read and look forward to your feedback! • Aged or damaged transformer components often no longer work reliably. Therefore, transformer operators look for cost effective and quick solutions to replace or even modernize such transformer equipment to ensure reliable and safe operation during the remaining lifetime of the transformers. Refurbishment only requires a small investment but brings a high return like: ▪️ Increased safety ▪️ Increased resilience ▪️ Extended service life of your transformers ➡️ Find out what our retrofit expert Dave Fishman has to share about retrofitting. ➡️More info: https://lnkd.in/eaipZ9Mt

  • 300 service technicians work for MR worldwide. They help customers in emergencies, but above all carry out routine maintenance to prevent outages before they occur. 🌐⚡ For example, at the Czech substation Hradec of the transmission system operator ČEPS. There, four phase-shifting transformers compensate for power fluctuations and ensure that expensive redispatch measures are not necessary. Regular maintenance of the on-load tap-changers will also ensure this in the future.🔧 Read more about the service operation in our IMPULS: https://lnkd.in/g5CqwjMr

  • A global transformation process is underway to achieve the climate targets. 🎯 By 2050, around 37 gigatons less CO2 are to be emitted each year. Dr. Stephan Rupp, Grid Expert and Business Developer at Reinhausen, specializes in the impact of this development on electricity grids. 🗣️ His conclusion: “Electrification in the energy industry and the expansion of the grids are the cornerstones of the energy transition.” Read his five theses on the energy transition here: https://lnkd.in/eNay7EAR

  • Our recent women's network event "Women@Reinhausen" at the end of October was a huge success! 60 dedicated employees participated both on-site and virtually. 👭🌐 This time, the event provided the possibility to actively contribute to our benefits portfolio and share valuable insights. Besides that the event also informed about training opportunities for professional and personal development within the company, which were enthusiastically received. As always, participants had the chance to network, exchange ideas, and establish new connections. 💬 For us, a women's network like Women@Reinhausen plays a crucial role in fostering a supportive environment for female employees and driving diverse perspectives in the company. Especially in the energy sector, we need more passionate women who shape our energy world every day. Our network enables the employees to build strong professional relationships, mentor each other, and collectively address industry-specific challenges. 💡

  • The energy sector’s transformation demands resilience and efficiency across every level of infrastructure. In collaboration with E.ON Hungary and Ganz Transformers and Electric Rotating Machines Ltd., we are advancing digitalization in transformer fleets to address these requirements and ensure grid stability for the future. At Őrmező substation, one of Hungary’s newest automated substations, digital twin technology and intelligent monitoring systems enable the monitoring of transformer health in real time and make data-driven decisions possible in order to extend asset life and enhance service reliability. Through these innovations, digital solutions are redefining asset management and helping to secure a more resilient energy supply. • Christoph Friedl is one of 300 service technicians worldwide working for MR. 🌍 He is on the road around 200 days a year, carrying out routine maintenance on on-load tap-changers and responding to emergencies. The trained industrial mechanic has been with MR for four years and really appreciates the versatility of his job: “I'm always somewhere else in the world and see places that a tourist wouldn't get to.” So probably not in the Czech Republic's largest substation, Hradec, operated by the transmission system operator ČEPS. There, Christoph and his colleague Andreas Singerer were servicing the three on-load tap-changers of a phase-shifting transformer. 🔧 ➡️ Get the full story about this assignment in the Czech Republic in the latest issue of ONLOAD: https://lnkd.in/eY64ZCWx
