Discovering one's own entrepreneurial side and using entrepreneurship skills to create meaningful innovations is the goal of my course 'Global Entrepreneurship' in the #MSDB at the ESCP Business School. The aim of the course is to open up a learning space where scientific principles and tools are taught and tested in intensive teamwork.
💙 🧠 🖐 “Give the students something to do, not something to learn; and the doing is of such a nature as to demand thinking; learning naturally results.” - John Dewey 💙 🧠 🖐
In addition to a radical customer-centric approach, the focus is on investor orientation. Students should learn how VCs look at their idea and what arguments speak in favour of an investment. I am more than grateful that the expertise of apx and HEARTFELT_ has added unique value for five years now. This year we had the special opportunity to have Elisa Biava share her experience alongside my long-time partner Teddy Kim. Thank you so much for your valuable contribution. It´s not only fun to work with you – you also offer incredible insides for our students! 💖
But what would a learner-centred course be without living examples? Thank you to Raphael Steil, Marco Cortinovis & the The Pitch Doctor for sharing their experiences. You have made a huge difference to our students' learning experience! 🌈
👩🏭 Work hard - Play hard 🤹♀️
Our course works when students are engaged in this learning journey and work intensively on their ideas between sessions, improving them or even pivot them after insides from customer validation. Anything goes, so it remains a secret what will be presented at the end. Thank you to all teams for taking the responsibility to co-create and go the extra mile!!!
📣 Friday was the big day: the #Demoday at Axel Springer in the #Neubau. Here, the students #pitched their startups to a top-class jury headed by my long-time friend Jörg Rheinboldt, with whom I once co-founded the UNTERNEHMERSCHULE. A big round of applause to Philip Meissner, Christoph Sollich, Raphael Steil, Elisa, Teddy for taking the time. Thank you to Team Kairos, Bloom, Lumos, SnapEat, Tableflip, Desk Hive & Aegis we honestly have been thrilled by your many different ideas and professional pitches that made the afternoon fly by. Congratulations to everyone!!!
The Demoday was also a very special day for me. Exactly one year ago I took up a new challenge at KLU in Hamburg. I am particularly pleased that my role as an Academic Advisor at #ESCP allows me to stay in close ties with my longstanding workplace and thus to build a bridge between Hamburg and Berlin. I'm already looking forward to next year. ✨ 🌟 💫
