🌍 Celebrating #WorldBrailleDay: Unlocking Culture Through Multisensory Experiences On this World Braille Day, we celebrate the power of #inclusion and the vital role Braille plays in making the world more #accessible to everyone. Braille is more than a writing system—it’s a gateway to participation, independence, and connection for millions of blind and visually impaired individuals. Partners of the MuseIT project are committed to going beyond accessibility to create true inclusion by championing #multisensory cultural participation. Our mission is to ensure that everyone can actively engage with Europe’s rich cultural heritage. Why is this important? Because culture is a universal language that should be shared by all. By developing innovative tools and approaches to make #museums, #exhibitions and #music accessible through touch, sound, and other senses, we can break down barriers and open new pathways for participation. 👉 Multisensory experiences are essential to: - Enhance inclusion: They make cultural content available in diverse formats that everyone can enjoy. - Empower individuals: People with sensory disabilities can fully interact with and contribute to cultural spaces. - Enrich perspectives: Multisensory designs create deeper, more memorable experiences for everyone, fostering empathy and understanding. This World Braille Day, let’s reaffirm our commitment to building a world where culture is truly inclusive, participatory, and enriched by all voices and abilities. Together, we can transform cultural heritage into a shared treasure that belongs to everyone. 🌟 Let’s make culture more than accessible—let’s make it inclusive. Last Friday, within the MuseIT Project (Horizon Europe), we organised a ‘Participatory Session’ with the association ViSTA from Karlsborg. ViSTA means ‘we who think differently’ and is a creative meeting place for people with disabilities. As the MuseIT project is a co-creative project where we explore and develop our Remote Performance Platform together with end-users, we conduct a number of so-called ‘Participatory Sessions’. During our co-creative session in Karlsborg, we worked with the visual representations of emotions, sometimes also called avatars. During the session, the group had to create and design their own ‘avatars’ in 3D and give them different expressions depending on different emotions. The technicians' job is now to try to transfer these 3D ideas into digital form. The group also helped us to evaluate an already digital representation so that we can go further and improve its appearance and behaviour. Over the past year, through these participatory sessions, we have learnt a lot about how representations of emotions can look and how important they are in the creation of our Remote Performance Platform. For example, the representation can be important both as abstract forms and more vivid things. A favourite representation in Karlsborg was the avatar dog, which came in many shapes and forms. Read more about the work with MuseIT and the Remote Performance Platform on our website.

We've just integrated CLARIAH SpaCy DANS pipelines with Dataverse instances in MuseIT Project (Horizon Europe) to automate named entity recognition and knowledge graph generation. While Machine Learning annotations are not always perfect, the "human in the loop" approach with Doccano-powered annotation service (https://lnkd.in/eb39dAyb) addresses this challenge. Human intervention ensures precise entity correction and alignment, resulting in higher-quality knowledge graphs. These aligned graphs can significantly enhance the precision and quality of #LLM dialogues. "Old but useful".
