Consortium Meeting 2024, Day 2 The second day featured a number of workshops at Stiftung niedersächsischer Gedenkstätten in Celle. After Artem Revenko provided a detailed overview of the MEMORISE_EU knowledge graph to the team, we had parallel sessions in which we talked about several digital tools we develop, education concepts, user testing, and so much more. The whole day brought the whole MEMORISE team again a couple of steps further.

Consortium Meeting 2024, Day 1 The first consortium day focused on updating each other on the status of MEMORISE_EU work packages, and finalizing this year's exhibition at Gedenkstätte Bergen-Belsen. Both activities documented how closely all partners are working together, and the exhibition is a great, tangible outcome of our efforts during the first project half. Great work by everyone! We also found the time for an introduction to the history of the former concentration camp by Billib Stephanie. It is particularly important in interdisciplinary projects that each team member gets a good understanding of the theme your are dealing with. It is not just data, it is important history that should not be forgotten!

Yesterday, when project coordinator Stefan Jänicke and project manager Lisa Eckford-Soper arrived at the Gedenkstätte Bergen-Belsen, which hosts this year's consortium meeting, we found our project team working hard on finalising our MEMORISE_EU exhibition "Showing the Unspeakable: Testimonies from Bergen-Belsen". We are very thankful for the dedicated work, coordinated by our principle museum exhibition designer Chris Hall. Thanks to Dr. Richard Khulusi, Jakob Kusnick, Camilla Vang Østergaard, Dante Aviñó Martinez, Adrian Pi Escolano, Pedro Fernandez Gomez, Luca Verschure, Paul Verschure, Héctor López Carral, Aliisa Råmark, Bas Kortholt, Noga Stiassny and Tobias Ebbrecht-Hartmann. And of course to the main responsible host Billib Stephanie and her team. We are really looking forward to open the exhibition together with our EU project officer Melpomeni Vyzika on Friday during the review meeting. New Blog Post: 'Depictions of the Concentration Camps from Within' by Noga Stiassny from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem MEMORISE_EU's latest blog post examines prisoner artworks created in Nazi concentration camps. These pieces, offer a unique perspective into the daily life and struggles of the prisoners. Featured works, like Ervin Abádi’s "Bergen-Belsen – A View From Afar" to Zsuzsa Merényi's diary sketches illustrate how art became a crucial form of resistance and a means to preserve humanity amidst unimaginable adversity. The MEMORISE project brings these artworks into the digital age, creating 3D models and interactive experiences that allow deeper engagement with these alternative, yet powerful testimonies.
