As part of European Safer Gambling Week, we were honoured to host an incredibly impactful session on Gambling Harm Awareness, led by Megan V., a consultant at EPIC Global Solutions. Megan bravely shared her personal story of overcoming triple addiction to gambling, drugs, and alcohol, shedding light on the devastating effects of gambling harm and, most importantly, the hope and empowerment found in recovery. Here’s a powerful insight Megan shared during the session: “At 22, I thought my life was over. Gambling was the hidden addiction that brought me to my knees. But on 3rd December 2022, I started my journey to recovery and haven’t looked back since.” At Kindred, we are deeply committed to raising awareness and fostering open conversations about safer gambling, helping to create a future where everyone can enjoy gambling responsibly and free from harm. Thank you, Megan, for your courage, strength, and for inspiring us to continue championing safer gambling practices. Together, we can make a meaningful difference. #KindredGroup #ESGW24 #ResponsibleGambling

This European Safer Gambling Week, we reaffirm our commitment to providing a safe and secure entertainment experience for all our customers. Kindred's "Journey Towards Zero" initiative is central to this mission, as we strive to eliminate revenue derived from harmful gambling. It’s a challenging yet essential ambition that reflects our proactive approach to fostering a sustainable and responsible gambling environment. Here’s where we stand in Q3 2024: 🔹 3.2% Gross winnings revenue from high-risk players, reflecting the ongoing need for improved harm detection and intervention strategies. 🔹 87.3% of detected customers showed improved behaviour following our interventions, up from 86.8% in Q2. While progress continues, the European Safer Gambling Week provides a valuable opportunity to amplify these efforts and raise awareness about responsible gambling practices. By combining technological innovation with personalised care, we’re advancing our systems, research, and partnerships to support safer gambling habits. Achieving zero revenue from harmful gambling is a long-term endeavour requiring industry-wide collaboration, but we are committed to leading the change. Our Responsible Gambling QA Manager, Taina Grech, attended NEXT.io RG Symposium on 11 November in Malta. During the “Operator Hot Seat” session, Taina joined a great discussion led by moderator Robert Mabbett, where they explored Kindred's commitment to the Journey Towards Zero and the real-world challenges we face along the way. The session also highlighted the purpose and value of working in Responsible Gambling. "We are passionate about reshaping the industry's perception. To earn this trust, we must view safe gambling as the ultimate goal, not a burden, and embrace innovation within the compliance reality", said Taina. At Kindred we share the growing concern in the Swedish gambling market: the rise of unlicensed operators. This trend poses serious risks to players and undermines the regulated industry. In an article by SPER Spelbranschens Riksorganisation, Sweden’s Gambling Industry Association, five key actions to protect consumers and ensure a safer, healthier gambling environment are being proposed. Policymakers are urged to: 🔸 Ban unlicensed operators from accepting Swedish players. 🔸 Explore options to block unlicensed sites. 🔸 Strengthen Spelpaus and increase resources for support services. 🔸 Restrict payday loans used for gambling. 🔸 Implement a loan-stop register to prevent financial harm.
