🌟Announcing the 10 laureate artists of the S+T+ARTS ec(h)o residency programme🌟 We are thrilled to unveil the 10 exceptional artists selected for the S+T+ARTS ec(h)o residency program. They will embark on a 13-month journey at the crossroads of art, science, and technology, addressing some of actual societing challenges with innovative and interdisciplinary approaches. The program is structured around 10 groundbreaking challenges, ranging from artificial intelligence and data visualization to bio and life sciences, underscoring the central theme of fostering ecological consciousness and human-compatible digital technologies. The laureate artists and their host institutions include: Theda Nilsson (TU Dresden): exploring adaptation to synthetic worlds through innovative theater. Johanna Bruckner (Ars Electronica): rethinking AI through themes of contamination and inclusion. Carolyn Kirschner (TU Dresden): merging biomolecular science with art to envision interspecies futures. Kyriaki Goni (ESPI): harnessing satellite imagery and storytelling for climate resilience. Bernat Cuní (HLRS, Media Solution Center): crafting hyperlocal VR/AR avatars based on cultural heritage. Oliver Kruse (HLRS, Media Solution Center): translating nature’s aerodynamics into a flying sculpture. Kirell Benzi, Ph.D (HLRS, Media Solution Center): transforming high-performance computing data into immersive visualizations. 🎉 Wrapping Up CASRI's First Year: An Exciting Road Ahead 🌍 As 2024 comes to a close, so does the first year of the EU-funded CASRI coordination and support action, which helps Umweltbundesamt - German Environment Agency and Environment Protection Agencies/Ministries in 14 countries to improve sustainability #research. 📌 This milestone is a perfect opportunity to express gratitude to all #CASRI stakeholders, partners and collaborators who have contributed to our shared mission of advancing #sustainability through innovative research and actionable solutions. We’ve come a long way thanks to your commitment, creativity and cooperative spirit. Together, we’ve: ✅ Achieved several deliverables setting up the consortium and network. ✅ Prepared impactful communication. ✅ Made significant progress in Work Package 2, spearheaded by Deltares. ✅ Laid the groundwork for the critical third work package, which will shape our SRIA (Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda) under lead of Finnish Environment Institute (Syke) - Suomen ympäristökeskus (Syke) in close collaboration with Umweltbundesamt - Environment Agency Austria and PBL Planbureau voor de Leefomgeving. 🙏 A special thanks goes to Katja Firus and her team at T6 Ecosystems for the project’s corporate design and communication, and to Linda Maring and her team Deltares for their incredible leadership in collecting the national status quo assessments, and to Sonja Otto for greatly taking over the coordination in turbulent waters, and to the members of our international Advisory Board for their insightful support Hans Bruyninckx, Henriette Spyra, Päivi Tikka, Stefan Reis and Marc Weissgerber, and to all #CASRI contributors for their dedication to a sustainable transformation for research and society in Europe. 🌱 Looking ahead to 2025, we’re excited to deepen our collaboration, achieve new milestones, and invite even more stakeholders to join us in driving meaningful change. 📣 On December 10th, IDMO delegation went on the premises of the Ministry of Education to sign a formal agreement to enhance #MediaLiteracy in the schools: https://lnkd.in/de397TfA 🎯 The formal collaboration aims at increasing media education over the next years: we, together with Rai - Radiotelevisione Italiana, and the partners of #IDMO, will have the occasion to teach the students on how to protect themselves from #disinformation campaigns by presenting tools, techniques and contents to fight disinformation arising their critical thinking. 👉 Follow us to learn more the calendar of the media literacy meetings.
