Only 9% of African youth are enrolled in higher education—far below the global average of 38%. This gap denies millions of young talents the opportunities they need to shape their futures. UNESCO is stepping up efforts to close this gap. By rethinking education systems and investing in access and quality, the potential of Africa’s vibrant youth can be unlocked to drive innovation and sustainable development.
