To celebrate Earthshot Week in Cape Town, Green Riders – an Earthshot Prize nominee – will host South Africa’s first micro-mobility Ride4Change cycling event. Over 500 young Green Riders and supporters will raise awareness for green, eco-friendly mobility and job creation. This call to action, and mass ride from Langa to Cape Town, supported by the Active Mobility Forum, will highlight the need for safer, more inclusive infrastructure for non-motorized transport and micro-mobility users and is backed by government, private sector, NGOs, and civil society. Ride4Change will promote a sustainable long-term solution for our people and our planet.

Driving Economic Growth and Employment: At the heart of the Takealot Group's mission is the commitment to stimulate economic growth and create employment opportunities. The Takealot Group Township Economy Initiative is designed to foster economic development and job creation in South Africa. On October 25th, the Takealot Group, led by Tshepo Marumule, in collaboration with the Mpumalanga MEC for Economic Development and Tourism, Ms. Makhosazane Masilela, proudly launched this initiative in the Mpumalanga province. Mr D’s contribution warms hearts and provides meals at MES Ekuthuleni Shelter In a heartwarming partnership, Mr D has made a significant contribution to MES, a non-profit organisation dedicated to uplifting the homeless and vulnerable, just in time for World Food Day on 16 October. This day serves as a global reminder of the importance of food security and the role we all play in eradicating hunger. As part of its "Ready Steady Cook" campaign, Mr D donated R15 000 worth of Mr D grocery coupons to MES for use in its Ekuthuleni kitchen during the icy winter months. This initiative allowed MES to purchase Pick n Pay groceries efficiently and conveniently through Mr D's grocery service. "At Mr D, we believe that giving back to our communities is just as important as the convenience we offer our customers. In the bigger scheme of things, our partnership with MES may have been a small gesture but it is still one that filled the plates of those in need during the colder months,” says Su-Lise Tessendorf-Louw, Mr D Chief Marketing Officer. This contribution comes at a crucial time when many communities face economic hardships and food insecurity. By supporting MES in winter, Mr D enabled the organisation to continue providing warm, nutritious meals to those less fortunate.
