🌳 We are excited to announce that the Mulock Park – a 16 acre green oasis in Newmarket is nearly 50 per cent complete! Once complete in 2026, this extraordinary park will feature a winter skate trail through the woods, walking and biking paths, open green space, a 4-season conservatory greenhouse, water play features, an artist studio and historic Mulock House. Just north of Toronto, #Newmarket is a geographically small town, and a growing community. As we build up ⬆️ apartments and condos, Town Council saw the critical needs to plan for and invest in green space. Creation of the park has been funded primarily through development charges which are dedicated to creating park and recreation spaces. The Mulock Park is our most significant capital investment, set to be one of the very best parks in the GTA and an accessible community gathering space that will serve tens of thousands of residents each year for generations to come. Check out the progress made this past year as we transformed a once private property into a green oasis for everyone to enjoy. Learn more about the project at HeyNewmarket.ca/MulockPark

This month, the Town will start restoring and revitalizing Mulock House, our most significant heritage home. Nestled in the wooded 16-acre Mulock Park greenspace, the storied private residence will be transformed into a spectacular 17,000 square foot accessible community space, including a gallery featuring works from the Art Gallery of Ontario's Indigenous and Canadian collections, a café and verandah overlooking the great lawn and a full kitchen to support catered special occasions. Plus a few hidden gems that will bring history back to life! Heritage design specialists at Plus VG Architects have created a design to renew the historical character elements of the private home (owned by the Mulock family for 150 years), reduce the home’s energy use by 50% and makes all floors inclusive to people with disabilities, adding accessibility features such as an elevator, ramps, and universal washrooms. Clifford Restoration Limited will bring the project to life. Construction will start this year. The house and park are expected to open in 2026.
