To wrap up the year we have three amazing articles that encompass the kindness of our community! The Joy of Volunteering During the Holidays! One of the most heartwarming aspects of the Santa Claus Fund is hearing the stories shared by our volunteers. These range from touching, joyful moments to inspiring full-circle experiences, where former recipients return to give their time and spread joy to others. Nick Lachance, staff photographer for The Toronto Star, recently visited one of the Santa Claus Fund depots, led by dedicated longtime volunteer Mario Marchese who years ago received the kindness that inspired him to deliver gifts for over 50 years. During his visit, Nick had the chance to personally deliver gifts to financially vulnerable children, capturing the joy of the experience through his lens. His story beautifully highlights the moments of happiness shared by Mario and himself. The holidays are a time to express gratitude for the people we share our lives with. They are also a humble reminder to reflect and give thanks for all the privileges we enjoy. It's the most wonderful time of the year! We are ringing in the holiday season by giving back. Our colleagues closed off 2024 with in-kind donations to a few charities that support families, newcomers and seniors in need. 🚲 26 bikes were donated to CultureLink Settlement and Community Services 🛻 168 wooden toys were given to WoodGreen Community Services 🎁 2 retail spaces at our Golden Mile Plaza were given to the The Toronto Star Children's Charities to be used as storage, sorting and pick-up depots for thousands of gifts 💟 1 industrial space in Calgary was donated to Seniors Secret Service to support the distribution of gifts to seniors without family across Calgary and the surrounding communities.
