Wise words from our CEO, on the bright future that is land-based aquaculture and ReelData. And we appreciate the comments from our investors and partners. Amy Francetic Sigurpall Hjorvar Arnason Jon Åge Stakvik-Løvås Adam Bird, CPA Matt Zimola
👨💼 The CEO and co-founder of ReelData AI, Matt Zimola, makes an assessment of the journey and evolution of the AI camera technology company, based out of Halifax, Nova Scotia, which has been one of the main operational support partners of choice for land-based #aquaculture since 2019. 💡 "When we established ReelData, we realized quickly that land-based aquaculture has a phenomenal opportunity to #grow and will play a significant, if not dominant, role in the future of #sustainable #seafood #production." 🔝 🆙 Evidence of this is the proliferation of post-smolt #facilities and full-cycle production facilities, as well as the diversification of #species in land-based aquaculture. All of this shows that the aquaculture #industry is on the verge of experiencing significant changes. 👉 To read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/d26mQkdK

Our ReelWeight cameras offer customers the opportunity to get accurate sample weights and weight distribution data directly to our tailored user interface. Using AI camera technology means fish don’t need to be handled to take manual measurements, and allows feeding to continue uninterrupted bringing both welfare and biomass benefits. And of course, time. Using ReelData’s ReelWeight system means farmers can spend time on other important activities around the farm. Oh, and we should mention our patented ‘Individual Fish Recognition’ technology that prevents repeated measurements of the same fish, ensuring you get the most representative sample weights. Available for multiple fish species!
Had the pleasure and privilege of deploying ReelData AI biomass cameras at Grieg Seafood Newfoundland hatchery a week or so ago. Fantastic to catch up with a past supervisor, mentor and friend in Mr Jon Walden. It was a mere 21years ago that we sat and drank beer together…but as always, with good people - felt like mere months rather than years. Also had the pleasure of meeting Andrew Tucker and Hayley Gillingham - always great to see young and enthusiastic talent coming through the industry. Thanks for the help and support Grieg team NL. We’re looking forward to working with you all over the coming months!!

Thanks to International Aquafeed for the article about our work with The Kingfish Company and Bram Rohaan and the team in The Netherlands! We recently deployed our AI biomass camera - ReelWeight - in to their facility to track average weights and weight distribution in Kingfish. The Kingfish Company have been a long standing customer of ours, and we're thrilled to be working with them on this project!
