NGIF is a Canadian venture capital firm offering grant and equity financing for startups that deliver solutions to the environmental and other challenges facing the natural gas sector. We are unique in how we bring Canada’s energy industry leadership to every investment, accelerating the validation, demonstration, and customer creation of our startup portfolio. Unlike other VCs, NGIF has strong connections to every part of the gas value chain, from production through to end-use, offering it a means to test, develop, and accelerate the commercial implementation of innovative gas technology wherever it fits in the sector. NGIF Capital's Cleantech Ventures Fund I is a $50MM venture capital fund that invests in early-stage clean-technology companies, focusing on technologies like #methanemitigation, #CO2 capture, #energyefficiency, wastewater recycling, and optimization. The Fund, launched in April 2021, mainly invests in #Canada and the #USA. Ionada, a portfolio company in Cleantech Ventures Fund I, develops exhaust gas cleaning systems that reduce emissions from marine and power generation industries. Ionada's patented iDeCarbon™ carbon capture technology is the first to market for small- to mid-size carbon emitters. Last month, Ionada's Series A investors, including Archrock Inc., Yinson Production, Dorian LPG, and NGIF Capital, convened for their annual strategy session and a tour of Ionada's new R&D facility north of Toronto, Canada.
