✨ Member Spotlight: Sustainability Solutions Group ✨ In the early 2000s, a group of visionaries came together with a shared belief: to address the greatest challenges of our time, systemic change was essential. This belief gave birth to the SSG (Sustainability Solutions Group), a #workercoop dedicated to pioneering solutions for the climate crisis. From humble beginnings, SSG embraced a collaborative approach, recognizing that true impact required working hand-in-hand with communities. Over the years, their dedication has led them to embark on over 250 transformative projects. They have worked with small organizations to state and national governments, influencing how institutions and utilities include climate considerations in their decision making. The breadth of their experience enables SSG to be a beacon of inspiration and innovation. Today, SSG stands proud as a majority women-owned #BCorp. ✨ Member Spotlight ✨ The Cleaning Co-op is transforming the cleaning industry by paying living wages, creating opportunities to reskill, and providing pathways to member ownership. The cleaning industry notoriously profits off the undervalued labour of janitorial workers, but The Cleaning Co-op is flipping that model by dedicating the majority of its revenue to labour, specifically those who are doing the hard work. The Cleaning Co-op was born out of the shared experiences of three women who faced systemic barriers in the cleaning industry, including exploitation, discrimination, and patriarchal practices. Determined to create better working conditions for themselves and others, they founded Vancouver’s first worker-owned cleaning cooperative in 2023 to provide living wages, ethical employment, and a pathway to co-ownership.
