West Van council members and public speakers were very supportive of their new Climate Action Strategy! City staff gave an excellent presentation.

As we wrap up 2024, the rhetoric around climate action feels as divisive as ever. At SSG, we know that climate action is not a partisan issue—it’s  about safeguarding what we value most: our communities, health, and way of life—and that we can forge ahead with action regardless of who is in power. In this edition of the Newswire we showcase two tools: one to support land-use decisions, the other to help assess climate risks and vulnerabilities. We also celebrate our CWCF award. We wish everyone a wonderful year end, a happy solstice, and look forward to more collaborations in the new year!

🥳 Congratulations to the District of West Vancouver on unanimously passing their Climate Action Strategy last night. When whatIf? Technologies and SSG decided to merge into one organization we differed in our approach to paying workers. The democratic process we used to negotiate and develop what we call our “total rewards package” was awarded the Best Practices Award by the Canadian Worker Co-operative Federation / La Fédération canadienne des coopératives de travail.
