Legal professionals are eager to see how legaltech improves in the future, with legal professionals anticipating new capabilities and features in legaltech like scalability, improvements to security, and better communication features. A significant number of respondents said they are looking forward to seeing more user-friendly interfaces and better integrations with other programs and government systems in legaltech. Many respondents are looking forward to emerging new solutions like predictive analytics, neuro-linguistic programming algorithms for contract analysis, and blockchain technology for creating and enforcing smart contracts. Others are eager to see VR tools for presenting evidence in courtrooms, as well as technology that can automate repetitive processes like file archival. Budget constraints are a main obstacle for 39% of law firms, while a higher 61% of in-house departments identify budget limitations as a primary barrier. Resistance to change is more pronounced in in-house settings (41%) compared to law firms (36%).
