Today, you can read about Authera’s groundbreaking work in ophthalmology in Din Øyehelse, as part of Dagbladet. Our mission is to develop innovative treatments for serious eye diseases, to address the unmet clinical need for therapeutics with novel mechanisms of action. This offers hope to millions of people who today lack viable options, and will gradually lose their vision due to lack of efficacious treatment. We're grateful for the support of Norges Blindeforbund and Norges forskningsråd. Torleif Tollefsrud Gjølberg Simone Mester ShareLab Forskningsparken - Oslo Science Park Innovation Norway Women TechEU

Great to kick off the mentoring program for the new first-year science and research students at Ullern videregående skole yesterday! Together with the other mentors, Pernille Bronken Eidesen and Pål Kristian Selbo, I shared my personal journey in research and my career path towards co-founding Authera. I firmly believe in the power of mentorship. Having good role models can significantly shape a young person's journey. It's something I wish I had had more of when I was their age. Looking forward to guiding and supporting these students! As part of the Women TechEU program, that I am proud to be a part of, I am given valuable guidance which is shaping my journey as a leader and entrepreneur at Authera. So far, I have focused my training in the program on fundraising strategies and how to build a high-impact team. This gives me important insights that I am excited to apply when we scale our company. What I value most about this experience is the inspiring community of like-minded women, all committed to breaking barriers and driving meaningful change. Together, we are paving the way for innovation and progress! Yesterday, our CEO Simone Mester and Jenny Skjermo Telstad represented Authera at the launch of Women in Life Science Norway (WiLD Norway), a network dedicated to empowering women in the health and life science sector. From the audience, Simone Mester shared the importance of female role models in her own journey, emphasising how crucial it is to see women in leadership to inspire the next generation. During the event, Menon Economics presented findings from their report, "Female Representation in Norwegian Life Science," where the following key take aways were highlighted: 📈 Untapped potential – Women comprise a large share of the workforce within life science, but there's still a gender gap in leadership and entrepreneurship. 📊 Underrepresentation in leadership – Women remain significantly underrepresented in decision-making roles. 💼 Ownership gap – The report noted that women are significantly underrepresented as business owners in the life sciences field, indicating a need for initiatives to support female entrepreneurship. 🌍 Diversity drives innovation – Companies with diverse leadership are more likely to develop groundbreaking solutions. At Authera, we fully support WiLD Norway’s mission. We’re proud to have Simone Mester as a member and CSO Torleif Tollefsrud Gjølberg as an ambassador for the organization. Gender diversity is essential—not just for equality, but for driving innovation and improving health outcomes. A special thank you to Chelsea Ranger for this amazing initiative. We’re excited to break barriers together! Women TechEU Forskningsparken - Oslo Science Park ShareLab The Life Science Cluster Innovation Norway Norges forskningsråd
