Following our successful training sessions for Panchayati Raj members in two blocks, the district collector, impressed with the initiative's impact, has ordered the extension of these trainings to all blocks in Pratapgarh, Rajasthan. On International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Smt. Sampatiya Uikey, Honourable Minister of the Public Health Engineering Department, graced the Mega Job Fair for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) held in Mandla, Madhya Pradesh organized by Sightsavers India in collaboration with the Department of Social Justice, NRLM, and the District Administration. The event brought together 218 persons with disabilities. Of these, 24 were offered jobs on the spot, and many others were shortlisted for further interviews. The job fair also saw active participation from 22 MSMEs and job providers. Sightsavers India and Lepra are proud to have contributed to the success of this initiative, promoting inclusive employment opportunities. #inclusion #employment #socialinclusion

Sightsavers India, in collaboration with the Social Security & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (SSEPD) Department, Odisha, and partners, marked International Day of Persons with Disabilities with a three-day event at KIIT University, Bhubaneswar. The event was inaugurated by Honourable Deputy CM Shree K.V. Singhdeo. Ms. Aloka Guha, Founder-Chairperson of the National Trust, MSJE, and Dr Uday Prakash Warunjikar, Vice President of the Bar Association of India were some of the distinguished speakers. Highlights included: - A workshop on Leadership & Innovation for Persons with Disabilities. - Eye screenings were conducted by Mobile Eye Care Van under our Urban Eye Health Programme, ensuring accessible eye health. - The launch of a booklet featuring inspiring stories of inclusion champions from Odisha. #collaboration #inclusion #eyehealth
