Thank you, Chevron Houston, for inviting the Houston East End Chamber to participate in a panel discussion at your World Cup 2026 kick off celebration for your employees! It was great to reconnect with our former Chamber Board Member Chris Canetti, President of Houston 2026 World Cup Host Committee and to hear from Bruce Niemeyer, President, Americas Exploration & Production, Chevron Corporation and Tim Howard, Houston Dynamo Football Club part-owner, former pro soccer player and US Men’s National Team. Chevron is a global company whose employees worldwide exemplify the teamwork and excellence seen in the world's greatest soccer teams. We are proud to partner with Chevron Houston and congratulate them on being a sponsor of the Houston Host Committee. The excitement in the room from your Houston employees, wearing their favorite soccer team jersey’s, was contagious and the legacy community programs you are planning will benefit our great City of Houston during and most importantly, after World Cup 2026! You make us #EastEndProud 📷 : Frances Castaneda Dyess, Chris Canetti, Bruce Niemeyer, Cameron Nazminia, Amber Tierce, Andrea “Toby” Tobias

  • Last night we were joined by Harris County Precinct 4 Commissioner Lesley Briones and staff, representatives from the Houston Dynamo Football Club/Dash and some soccer superstars for a ceremonial “first kick” to officially open a new mini-pitch! As the official Community Champion of the Houston Dash, Chevron Houston was proud to collaborate on this new feature, located at Freed Park in Spring Branch. Chevron Houston and the Houston Dash both share the common goal of expanding access to youth soccer in our community. This mini-pitch, together with soccer clinics and educational programming, will help us connect sports and science for Houston’s next generation of students, athletes, and leaders. Thank you to everyone who helped turn this dream into reality! Bring your family and check out the mini-pitch at Freed Park, 6818 Shadyvilla Lane, 77005. Amber Tierce Irene F.

  • Our employees are passionate about volunteering- and breaking records! Huge thank you to the over 500 folks who showed up to pack a record 18,000 lunches for Kids' Meals, Inc. in just a few hours! In honor of the organization's 18th birthday, we joined forces with the Houston Texans Legends and Cheerleaders for a day of hard work and community spirit! We also made an $18,000 donation to help further Kids' Meals' mission to end childhood hunger by delivering free, healthy meals to Houston’s preschool-aged children. Check out our video to see some of the highlights from this special day.

  • Chevron recently welcomed almost 100 students to Minute Maid Park for our annual Wins for Kids event. Talk about the ultimate field trip! Together with the Houston Astros, we hosted a fun-filled day for the kids- where they learned about the STEM concepts in baseball, played trivia, wrote letters to the players and more. The day wrapped up with a visit from Orbit, great seats to the game and a backpack full of school supplies for each participant!   Since 2019, Chevron and the Astros have worked together on our Wins for Kids program. Through this partnership, Chevron and the Astros donate $1,000 to local youth programs for every Astros win. We're so proud of this partnership and our 2024 American League West champs!

Chevron is the proud presenting partner of the Houston Texans Legends Community, and we were excited to join forces last week to celebrate some special football stars! The Legends are former Texans players that share our passion for giving back to the community through volunteerism. Student athletes at Aldine High School and Benjamin O. Davis High School were surprised by Toro, the Texans Cheerleaders and Legends Chris Clark and Wade Smith. Thank you, Chris and Wade, for sharing your journeys from young athletes to professional NFL players and the lessons learned along the way. Chevron is proud to support these incredible athletes through the donation of brand-new cleats to both football teams. Through partnership with the Houston Texans, we aim to empower Houston’s youth while inspiring their interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) education. Best of luck to both teams as they kick off their football season!

  • Since 1993, the Houston Zoo has worked closely with US Fish and Wildlife Services on the Attwater’s Prairie Chicken (APC) recovery program and Chevron has been the proud sponsor for the last 14 years. As a part of this unique program, 53 chickens were released this month at the APC National Wildlife Refuge, approximately 60 miles west of Houston. The refuge is home to one of the largest remnants of native coastal prairie remaining in southeast Texas. The Zoo manages breed-and-release efforts where the land mimics their future habitat. Hens lay eggs in March, and birds are released late summer. Once released, the teams oversee holding pens for acclimation and other support, with the goal towards creating self-sustaining populations. This program is important because about 1 million birds once called our region home; that number is now down to about 200. These endangered chickens have suffered population declines due to habitat loss. The efforts of the Zoo and its partners are a key reason why this species exists in the wild today. We aim to support organizations that help to make the Greater Houston area a better place to live, and that includes addressing biodiversity and conservation needs. The Attwater Prairie Chicken lives right in our backyard, and thanks to the Zoo, these birds can continue to thrive. Laura Dandridge Amber Tierce
