YMCA Chaplaincy Services support staff and service users to think through life’s big questions. Often the daily pressures arising from relationships, money, personal and others expectations can seem suffocating; or life becomes so hectic that little time is spent considering spiritual health. YMCA Chaplaincy provides a non-judgemental space to discuss, explore, pray, worship and generally unpack life’s journey from a supportive Christian perspective. You can spot our Chaplains around our buildings in yellow hoodies, or contact them directly at chaplains@ymcabc.org.uk to arrange an appointment. #YMCA #Chaplaincy #BlackCountry

In today's fast-paced world, it’s easy to lose sight of the bonds that truly matter our relationships with family. Islam teaches that maintaining and strengthening the ties of kinship is not just a moral duty, but also a source of personal and spiritual growth. Here are a few effective ways to keep these ties strong: Frequent short visits to check in and show you care. Regular communication through calls or messages, even when life gets busy. Hosting family gatherings over a meal, a tradition rooted in our faith. Offering support when family members need it, showing that you stand with them in good times and bad. Letting go of grudges and offering forgiveness to mend strained relations. Maintaining strong family bonds contributes to emotional well being and helps foster a sense of belonging, both in personal and professional life. "The best of you are those who are best to their families." (Sunan al-Tirmidhi) Incorporating this wisdom into our everyday life helps us build stronger, more resilient personal networks, which in turn reflects positively on our professional lives as well. On a continuum of 1-10 are you this morning? (1 represents the lowest point of life. 10 represents a remarkably high quality of life" Where would you place yourself? I often ask people in the community this question. Once they give me a marker, let's say a 5, I ask them what they need to move 2 markers further. This is a way to get to know people, what they need, how I can encourage them, and how I can pray for them. Here is something I find remarkably interesting. while serving on the Board of the Gospel Rescue Mission, I enjoy connecting with the residents. I hear 7-8 responses from most--those who have been homeless living at the Mission. These numbers are higher than many of those in the community that appear to be in a good place in life. The Mission helps residents understand the value of spirituality in their life, in addition to the work-study program that begins preparing them to find freedom and stability in their lives. #happyness #spirituality #hope #sustainability

The experiences we go through put us in a position of empathy. Where we are more empathetic to others, and as such able to advise and counsel them from a place of experience. A woman that has had to wait for even 3 years before having a child, knows the pain of waiting. A person that has suffered injustice knows how it feels. So when such a person is counseling you from a place of experience, you know they understand what you are going through and will likely accept their advice more than someone that has not been there. And you notice genuine empathy from such people. Accept Jesus as your personal Lord and savior today. #yourinsuranceplug #Jesussaves

Ever wondered the number of mental institutions there would be in Kenya or the whole world if we didn't have places of worship.... Well, Churches, Synagogue, Mosques, Temples, Shrines and other places of worship are very important. People go to church not only to fellowship but also to find peace and solace. After a whole week of stress people go to their place of worship to release and let go of their burdens. Life can at times be unbearable but once someone finds internal peace and gets re energized to face daily challenges. Places of worship should always be a source of peoples peace of mind. They should advocate for hope faith and resilience no matter what. This is what is preached in most churches. There are people who are wondering what to eat, dress, rent and more challenges.. But they go to places of worship hopping that in one way or another, God will hear their prayers and something will happen and things will fall in place. Places of worship should created an atmosphere suitable for meditation, fellowship and encouragement. I highly encourage opening and smooth running of places of worship. There should also be freedom of worship in totality. What's your take?
