Ever texted the C-suite of a major tech company for a quick chat? This summer, during my Software Engineering Internship at Red Hat, I did just that. To be honest, I didn’t think they’d respond, but I reached out to Matt Hicks (CEO) , Chris Wright (CTO) , and Ashesh Badani (CPO) on Slack, asking if they had 30 minutes to chat. As an intern, the fact that these execs actually made time for me really showed how Red Hat lives its mission of openness and collaboration. I had to wait until after my internship to connect with them, but it was totally worth it. In these conversations, the biggest takeaway for me was how anyone—no matter their role—can drive meaningful innovation. It’s not about having authority or huge ideas, but about identifying problems, taking initiative, and working within the system to make things better. They emphasized how impactful change often starts with small, focused actions that align with broader business goals. Honestly, I was nervous before each call, worried I might fumble through the conversation. But once we started, their openness and curiosity made it easy. What could’ve been intimidating turned into inspiring, engaging conversations. It was a reminder that even when something seems impossible, it’s worth taking a chance. Sometimes, all it takes is having the courage to ask. #RedHat #OpenSource #Culture

🌟 Exciting insights from Eve, a talented intern in Dublin working on YouTube's Ads marketing team! 🌟 Eve's journey this summer highlights the incredible potential of artificial intelligence in reshaping the advertising landscape. Her focus on innovative, scalable ideas for engaging video advertisers is a testament to the power of creativity in tech. What resonates most with me is Eve's alignment with Google’s culture of innovation and outside-the-box thinking. It’s inspiring to see a company that nurtures creativity and allows employees at all levels to shape their paths. As we continue to explore the intersection of technology and human experience, let’s remember the importance of diverse backgrounds and perspectives in driving innovation. Here's to fostering environments where new ideas can thrive! 💡✨ #Innovation #AI #YouTube #Internship #DiversityInTech #Creativity
Meet Eve: a Dublin-based intern wrapping up her project on YouTube's Ads marketing team. "My project this past summer focused on finding new ways to engage video advertisers using artificial intelligence. To do that, I’ve been researching AI applications to propose scalable ideas to grow YouTube Ads." Eve decided to apply to Google because she saw an overlap between Google's culture and her personal values. "Having a background in languages, literature, and drama — coupled with work experience in mostly startup environments — it was important to find a company that emphasized outside-the-box thinking, innovation, and creativity. Google provides every employee, from intern to senior leadership, with the opportunity to pave their own path to achieve their goals, and a safe space to share new ideas." 🌟 Excited to share that I just attended my 7th session of the Young Innovator Internship Challenge (YIIC 2.0) at Scaler School of Technology!🌟 This session was focused on Marketing 101 and was led by the insightful , Shashank Shekhar 🍎 of Stony Santa and Content Marketer at Scaler School of Technology. 📚 During this session, we explored the 5 fundamental questions that shape successful advertisements: Why, Who, What, Where, and How. Understanding these principles helps tailor ads to reach and resonate with the right audience. We also delved into customer personas, learning how to identify the needs and pain points of target customers. 💡 One fascinating aspect was the discussion on referral marketing—a strategy where companies incentivize existing customers to refer new ones. For example, Starbucks uses the quirky tactic of writing incorrect names on cups, sparking conversations and creating a memorable experience. 🎯 To wrap up, we were assigned the task of creating an ad for a brand of our choice and sharing it on social media, giving us hands-on experience in marketing. ✨ I truly enjoyed the session and am eager to apply this practical knowledge in future projects! 🚀 Please stay tuned for more updates when I complete my project!

🚀 Just wrapped up my first co-op term at Noibu! 🌐 These past few months has been full of growth and learning. Trying to apply what I've learnt so far from Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology; I dove straight into the world of software engineering, particularly in backend development. With that, I gained a wealth of knowledge and skills that have profoundly shaped my professional outlook. Here’s what I accomplished: -Mastered the Rust programming language, learning how to tackle complex coding challenges with efficiency. -Developed a solid understanding of Google Cloud services, enhancing my ability to build scalable and robust applications. -Sharpened my problem-solving skills by overcoming numerous technical challenges through creativity and persistence. -Improved my ability to work collaboratively in a high-tech team environment, learning from some of the brightest minds in the industry. This co-op was more than just a job, it was a journey that tested and built my capabilities in ways I hadn't imagined. I'm incredibly grateful for the mentorship and support I received at Noibu, and I'm eager to apply these skills in future roles. Time for round 2! 🤝 #CoOp #SoftwareEngineering #Rust #GoogleCloud #TechInternship #CareerDevelopment #NoibuTechnologies
