Hello my lovely network. I can't really say I've impacted as many people as you have, but through volunteerism, I've been impacted and have impacted many lives, knowingly and unknowingly. "For those who don't know, I'm former Volunteer of CorpsAfrica (Almuni) who served in Rwanda, and in Ghana as a I was an exchange volunteer" So, when I was serving in Ghana, one beautiful day we had a Minister's visit, and community members were sharing their experiences with CorpsAfrica Volunteers so far. Although I couldn't understand well the language; I was still trying to learn.) after that, I heard that they told the Minister how I pick up every piece of rubbish, like rubbers, wherever I see them, and that was something they were learning from me. In another activity when I was teaching how to make juices, liquid soaps, etc., and I emphasized the importance of washing our hands when we are preparing things we eat or will use on our skin because it can affect our health (literally washing our hands on every occasion). This led to them being vigilant among themselves to practice the same habit. Dear youth, it's not just about how much money you have, your experience or a lot we claim we don't have, it's about having sense of responsibility that you were created to do something better for someone or a community, we have duties to bear in mind: to explore, to be role models, to empower, to learn, to grow with, and to be an inspiration ….like a lot of things. and through you small effort you can create an impact on/for the community, all eyes are on you in the society. When I left, many young people, even teachers and students, were asking how they could become Volunteers too. Unfortunately, there were some requirements they didn't meet, at least, many of you here do have what it takes. #Timeisnow, try your chance if this has been your dream, by clicking on the link below to know how you can become a volunteer for CorpsAfrica/Rwanda 👉 https://bit.ly/3y08JvM Good luck, Thank you. #ThisIsCorpsAfrica #developmentredefined #localhelpinglocals #Volunteerism

#4thDec marks a day of celebration and gratitude as we honor Saudi and International #VolunteerDay, a significant occasion to recognize the transformative power of volunteer work. This year, المركز الوطني لتنمية القطاع غير الربحي | National Center for Non-Profit Sector has announced a remarkable milestone: #one #million #volunteers in Saudi Arabia. This achievement is a testament to the growing spirit of altruism and dedication among individuals who contribute their time and skills to building a stronger and more compassionate society. As one of these proud #volunteers, I reflect on the #journey that began for me in 2019. What started as a single step into the world of volunteering has grown into a profound and ongoing commitment to serving others. Over the years, I have witnessed firsthand how volunteer work fosters empathy, #strengthens communities, and promotes universal human values. It is more than just an act of giving; it is a way of life that enriches both the #giver and the #recipient. #Volunteering has taught me that no effort is too small when it comes to making a difference. Whether organizing community events, supporting those in need, or contributing to #awareness campaigns, each act leaves an indelible mark on society. It has also been a deeply #personal journey, one that has brought me closer to understanding my role in creating #positive change. On this #special day, I extend my #heartfelt gratitude to my #family, whose unwavering support has been my foundation throughout my volunteer journey. Their encouragement has been instrumental in helping me balance my personal commitments with my passion for serving the community. #Reaching one #million #volunteers is more than just a number; it represents a collective force of individuals united by their commitment to giving back. As we celebrate this milestone, I encourage everyone to take a step towards volunteering, whether it’s through small, everyday acts of kindness or by dedicating time to structured initiatives. Together, we can build a world where compassion and service drive progress. Let us continue to #embrace the #spirit of #volunteerism, #knowing that each act of service contributes to the #greater good.

Happy #MandelaDay to all South Africans! Today, many of us will embrace the spirit of our beloved former president and dedicate a portion of our time to volunteer, give back, and make a difference in the lives of others. But how can we make sure that this spirit and impact extends beyond Mandela Day? For companies, many of which have employee volunteering programmes, this is a particularly poignant issue. Trialogue director Cathy Duff explains how companies can keep up the momentum beyond Mandela Day to deliver sustained impact. https://lnkd.in/ddddV_x7

Happy #InternationalVolunteerDay to ALL volunteers around the world. This global celebration highlights the power of volunteering to strengthen communities and create positive change. With millions of volunteers across the globe, this day is an opportunity to celebrate our remarkable contributions and acknowledge the profound impact we have locally, nationally and globally and inspire us to recognise, thank, and elevate the essential work of volunteers everywhere. As a former volunteer of The King's Trust myself before employment, I want to give a shoutout to our incredible volunteers who gift time to support our young people 🙏 To my Volunteer Now, parkrun and Action for Happiness volunteer family, the impact we are collectively making on the world in our different capacities is both immense and immeasurable. Let’s keep spreading the gospel 🙌 Did You Know? * The monthly number of volunteers aged 15 years and over amounts to 862.4 million worldwide. * Most volunteer work continues to be arranged informally between individuals, with 14.3% of the global population participating, while 6.5% of working-age people worldwide engage in formal volunteering via an organization or association. A significant percentage of people carry out multiple types of volunteer work. 🔵Again about Modern volunteering As most of you know, nowadays volunteering is more than just giving your time—it's also about personal growth and skill development. Recently, as part of our commitment to supporting those who have fled the war in Ukraine, we organised three skill-building training sessions for our volunteers. These sessions were designed to empower them with knowledge and skills essential for supporting vulnerable people. A huge thanks to Tetiana Khoroshylova, an experienced therapist with extensive expertise working with internally displaced persons in Ukraine, who led the sessions: 1️⃣ Fundamentals of Psychological Support for Refugees 2️⃣ Cultural Sensitivity and Tolerance 3️⃣ Stress Management and Self-Care 💡 Results: 86% of participants found the training highly useful and said they would definitely apply these skills in practice! On behalf of myself and the entire House of Helsinki team, a heartfelt thank you to Tetiana for her valuable contribution and to all our volunteers for their dedication. 💙💛 #Volunteering #SkillDevelopment #HouseOfHelsinki #SupportForUkraine

Hi LinkedIn, we're The Watermelon Project. Founded in April of 2024, our mission is to uplift Palestinians voices and rally global advocates in the name of humanity. We do this through three core initiatives: 1. Collecting in-person & remote opportunities for people of all ages to get involved in aiding Palestinians and storing this in the TWP Mastersheet 2. Promoting fundraisers and non-profits to directly support affected families and on-the-ground aid in Gaza. 3. Cataloguing historical resources on the TWP Mastersheet to educate all on the historical context of the ongoing genocide. Interested in learning more about what we do or volunteering? Check out our Linktree (https://lnkd.in/eBMDCZV9) which has links to our Mastersheet, Instagram, and more. Stay tuned for more updates from us soon 🍉

In my opinion, the unconditional love that we can give to the society as an individual is volunteering. I am proud to announce that we have recently started editing the Persian translation of the valuable book"The Palgrave Handbook of Volunteering, Civic Participation, and Nonprofit Associations" in cooperation with the #Moin_Institute. To learn more about this valuable research, I have written a brief text below. (I will enjoy this journey 😍) 💚 💚 💚 💚 💚 The Palgrave Handbook of Volunteering, Civic Participation, and Nonprofit Associations, Written by over 200 leading experts from over seventy countries, this handbook provides a comprehensive, state-of-the-art overview of the latest theory and research on volunteering, civic participation and nonprofit membership associations. The first handbook on the subject to be truly multinational and interdisciplinary in its authorship, it represents a major milestone for the discipline. Each chapter follows a rigorous theoretical structure examining definitions, historical background, key analytical issues, usable knowledge, and future trends and required research. The nine parts of the handbook cover the historical and conceptual background of the discipline; special types of volunteering; the major activity areas of volunteering and associations; influences on volunteering and association participation; the internal structures of associations; the internal processes of associations; the external environments of associations; the scope and impacts of volunteering and associations; and conclusions and future prospects. This handbook provides an essential reference work for third-sector research and practice, including a valuable glossary of terms defining over eighty key concepts. Sponsored by the International Council of Voluntarism, Civil Society, and Social Economy Researcher Associations (ICSERA; www.icsera.org), it will appeal to scholars, policymakers and practitioners, and helps to define the emergent academic discipline of voluntaristics. 🍂 🍁 🍂 🍁 🍁 #Volunteering #voluntaristics #Civic_Participation #Nonprofit_Associations #voluntary_action #volunteer #associations #nonprofit_association #voluntary_association #sociology #social_science_editor #asma_karaji
