🌍 Finding Hope in Unexpected Places: Reflections on Volunteering Around the World 🌟 Volunteering in crisis-stricken areas has given me an extraordinary gift: the ability to witness the power of hope in places where despair could so easily take root. Whether it’s Syrian refugees in Greece, the resilient families of Sderot in Israel, or young leaders in Bangladesh seeking to bridge divides, I’ve seen that hope isn’t just something we find—it’s something we create. From a mother teaching her children in a refugee camp to a family in Sderot painting murals to brighten their home amidst daily uncertainty, I’ve learned that: Hope is a choice, not a circumstance. Even in unimaginable hardship, people choose hope through small, purposeful actions. Community is the foundation of resilience. I’ve seen communities come together in every corner of the world to lift one another up, proving that connection can overcome even the most difficult challenges. Kindness is universal. It transcends borders, languages, and backgrounds—reminding us of our shared humanity. Hope grows through action. Small acts of kindness ripple outward from a makeshift classroom to a shared meal, creating change and igniting possibility. These lessons have changed me profoundly, and they’ve reminded me that hope isn’t just something to admire—it’s something we can all help cultivate in our daily lives. You don’t have to travel the world to make an impact. By practicing kindness, listening to others, and taking small but meaningful actions, we can build hope wherever we are. Hope is all around us—resilience, community, kindness, and the simple belief that tomorrow can be better than today. Let’s nurture it. Let’s share it. Let’s build it together. 💙 #HopeInAction #Volunteering #GlobalCommunity #Kindness #Resilience #Inspiration https://lnkd.in/gwwai4-W

Role of Christian Business Men and Women to Sahara Desert Missionary Engagement In today's fast-paced world, the role of Christian business men and women cannot be overlooked when it comes to missionary engagement, especially in a challenging and arid region like the Sahara Desert. These individuals possess a unique set of skills, resources, and passion that can greatly benefit mission projects and create a lasting impact. Whether it's through funding, expertise, or simply spreading awareness, their contributions are invaluable. One organization that exemplifies the value of Christian business men and women in missionary engagement is Royal Missionary Outreach International (RMOI). RMOI works tirelessly to bring the light of the gospel to the people living in the heart of the Sahara Desert. They have various mission projects aimed at enhancing the lives of the locals, including access to clean water, education, healthcare, and more. However, these mission projects often face a shortage of funds. This is where the support of Christian business men and women becomes crucial. These individuals have the financial capacity and entrepreneurial spirit to donate generously to such causes. Their donations can help RMOI expand its reach, increase its impact, and transform countless lives in the process. But it's not just about monetary contributions. Christian business men and women also offer their expertise and skills to missionary engagement in the Sahara Desert. They can provide valuable insights on sustainable business models, helping empower the local communities and create long-term solutions to alleviate poverty. Their knowledge of marketing, supply chain management, and finance can lead to the successful implementation of income-generating projects, ensuring the mission projects are self-sustaining. Furthermore, Christian business men and women have a significant influence within their spheres of influence – big businesses, small businesses, and Christian families. By leveraging their networks, they can raise awareness about the mission projects happening in the Sahara Desert. Through their influential platforms, they can encourage others to donate, volunteer, or even consider careers in missionary work. To sum it up, the involvement of Christian business men and women in missionary engagement in the Sahara Desert is invaluable. Through their financial contributions, expertise, and influence, they can make a lasting impact on the lives of people in need. Their dedication to philanthropy and their faith-driven desire to make a difference sets them apart. So let's come together, support organizations like RMOI, and play our part in building a brighter future for the people of the Sahara Desert. We believe in the power of grassroots leadership to transform communities. When Sangu Mukawa Godefroy, a refugee changemaker, approached The Pollination Project with his vision for a community education center, our $1,000 grant helped turn that dream into reality. The Scorpion Control Center exemplifies how strategic micro-funding in human rights initiatives creates sustainable community impact. From remote operations, this refugee-led project now has a permanent hub offering educational programs and research opportunities, empowering an entire refugee community. This is what leadership in humanitarian grantmaking looks like: identifying passionate local leaders and providing the resources they need to create lasting change. Watch how one small grant is transforming lives. ⬇️ #SocialImpact #HumanRights #RefugeeEmpowerment #Grantmaking #CommunityDevelopment #NonprofitLeadership #philanthropy #heartivism

Today, we honor Juneteenth, a day that marks the end of slavery in the United States and celebrates freedom, resilience, and the ongoing fight for equality. Juneteenth, observed on June 19th, 1865, is a powerful reminder of the strength and determination within marginalized communities. Our Afghan community understands the importance of this day, coming forth as a community that shares a rich history of resilience and a quest for freedom. Highlighting events like Juneteenth is crucial as it reminds us of the progress we have made and the work that still lies ahead. By spotlighting these significant moments in history, we recognize the injustices that have been overcome and those that persist today. It is a call to action for continued solidarity, understanding, and advocacy. As we celebrate Juneteenth, we encourage reflection on the importance of supporting and uplifting all marginalized communities,. Our collective commitment to justice and equality paves the way for a more inclusive and compassionate society. Together, we can ensure that every individual, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to live freely and with dignity. With love, AOA #Juneteenth #FreedomDay #Resilience #AfghanRefugees #CommunitySupport #CulturalHeritage #Solidarity #JusticeForAll #Unity #Nonprofits #OregonNonprofit

San Antonio Catholic Charities Want Local Taxpayers Funding - Antonio Fernandez, CEO & Pres. of Catholic Charities in San Antonio says he believes the city should provide funding for the Migrant Center if federal funding runs out. Hypocritically, Fernandez explains that the role of Catholic Charities and the Migrant Center is to help illegal aliens move on to other cities. He warns that if funding ends then the illegal aliens will stay in San Antonio. However, Catholic Charities is serving as a human trafficker for the Biden Administration and travel agent for illegal aliens. They are not a charity but profiting from federal taxpayer dollars to facilitate illegal immigration. They now want local taxpayer money to replace the federal funds to continue their illegal enterprise.Rather than funding this non-charity agency and assisting illegal immigration, San Antonio citizens and taxpayers must oppose funding the Migrant Center. They must also demand that illegal aliens be sent to other cities and not settled in San Antonio. Ultimately, SA citizens and taxpayers must demand the federal government secure the border and stop all illegal immigration. In fact the federal government must stop all immigration until the millions of illegal aliens currently in America are identified and removed. Say NO to funding the San Antonio Migrant Center. https://lnkd.in/g3vvdJmi

🚨 Research note of the WEEK! 🚨 Faith-based Fundraising and Engagement in Post-Communist Czech Republic 📄 In the Czech Republic, religiosity is decreasing, and distrust in church institutions is on the rise. Despite this, volunteerism and revenue have consistently increased for Caritas Czech Republic’s primary fundraising initiative. This study explores religiosity and trust in the church in the context of fundraising and volunteerism for faith-based organizations in post-communist Czech Republic. Caritas Czech Republic’s door-to-door Three Kings Collection (TKC) fundraiser communicates a religious message yet has increased volunteerism and revenues annually. One reason for success may be that Czech society can distinguish between institutional church distrust and the social services Caritas provides. For Caritas, fundraising is part of a larger mission to connect society. ✒Author(s): Jakub Dostál - College of Polytechnics, Jihlava | Vladimír Hyánek – Masaryk University 📝 The Research note is written by Peter Stemp from La Salle Foundation. 🔔 More research notes!
