Are you curious about how we breathe when there is a fire on a #submarine? Below is a video with a good description of an EAB! We also use SCBA but that will be in another video. Old Boat Sailor (subs), Hacker. I welcome the jobs the comet will bring.

We had OBA's. They were notoriously simple and used some very old tech. Worked but had one byproduct that was difficult to deal with, heat. Lots of heat. If you put one in the garbage the chemical reaction creates a garbage fire. Sleeping in an EAB was my favorite stuff.

I’m a Plankowner on the good ship New Mexico, and no, we didn’t have a vote on the rack curtains. Great boat to be on though!

Never forgot those EAB’s and flash hoods and checkout the new fancy bunk curtains.

I have seen 'oodles' of Sailors w/approved no-shave chits. I guess the respirator fit tests aren't as stringent as they used to be(?)

Putting this on, on a ship, is nerve racking enough. Can’t imagine on a sub.
