If you’re working with a recruiter, and they haven’t physically been to your company… It’s a huge missed opportunity. How can you possibly understand the culture, the people, and who the company really is if you have never stepped foot in their office/facility? You can’t. And you don’t get that kind of experience and knowledge from a job description or a Zoom call. One of my favorite things to do is to go to on-site and meet with our clients and their teams BEFORE we start working on a position. We get to ask questions to people directly. We understand their mission and why they do what they do. We feel like an extension of their team, not just some outside recruiter. 🌟 A Perfect Match: Trusting the Process 🌟 I was recently reminded why I love what I do. I was working with a client to fill a key tech role. We had a strong candidate in the final stages who would’ve done an excellent job—but then I urged the client to meet someone else. This second candidate didn’t just fit the role; they exceeded it. Their unique background and experience made them a standout choice, even if they weren’t what the client originally envisioned. After meeting them, the client saw their potential as a game-changer for the company’s technology department—and they were hired. This story highlights a few important lessons: 👉 Recruiters: Build trust with clients and candidates. Sometimes it means advocating for someone who might not seem like the obvious choice. 👉 Clients: Be open-minded.
