#JobSearchStruggles #ITJobs #TechCareers Hey everyone, I just wanted to vent a little... It’s been a tough road trying to find a new job since July, and honestly, I’m feeling pretty defeated right now. 😩 I’m currently working in a temporary role as a hardware support technician, helping to set up data center servers, which is fine and all, but I’m really itching for something more permanent. What’s driving me up the wall is the sheer saturation of IT and tech companies in my area. It feels like every corner I turn, there's another business looking for talent. You’d think that would create opportunities, right? But here’s the kicker: my resume isn’t exactly sparkling. While I’ve got a solid amount of experience at a big tech corporation, it feels like that doesn’t count for much unless I’ve checked off every box on the wish list—such as having a master’s degree or being related to someone in power. 😒 I mean, I can’t even get a sniff for basic help desk roles anymore! What the heck ... Why Can't I Land an IT Job Despite 500 Applications? Answers: https://lnkd.in/gpwXeeJU

Question: Computer Technician roles/PC Support Tech Roles are all the same thing right? Is there such a job search term specifically for it? I feel like these "Computer Engineering" roles basically compile all into one category. Help me out because EVERYONE needs a tech somehow somewhere physically and I feel the job labels are unjustified. #feedback #opinions #jobsearching #jobhelp #joblabels

After 4 years as a tier 2 helpdesk specialist, I was recently let go along with others from my team. It’s a bit of a shock, to say the least! 😟 Here’s a quick rundown of my background: ⚙️ **Experience**: 4 years in tech support 🎓 **Degree**: BS in IT 🔒 **Certifications**: Sec+ (working on getting the CCNA) 📍 **Location**: Living in the Triangle, NC Now, I’ve been looking around at job openings, and honestly, the job market feels pretty grim right now. The positions available are quite limited, and I’m worried that finding something at my current level might be a challenge. 😕 Also, I’m not keen on dropping down to a tier 1 role. Here are a couple of things I’m considering: 🔄 **Updating LinkedIn**: Should I add an end date for my last job right away? 📚 **CCNA Focus**: I wish I was further along with the CCNA, but I’m just starting out. Now that I have some extra time, should I prioritize that? I think it ...
