TNP employees recently celebrated the holiday season by raising over $12,700 for Habitat for Humanity (Trinity and Houston affiliates) and enjoyed time together at Christmas parties in DFW and Houston. In DFW, we enjoyed a western-style Christmas featuring classic country tunes from the band 90 Proof, line dancing, and fun activities. In Houston, we gathered for an exciting evening filled with casino games and raffles. Houston Habitat for Humanity, Inc. #CoopFortnight celebrates how co-operatives offer an altogether different way to do business. Meet Homebaked Community Land Trust in Liverpool, set up by a group of Anfield and Everton locals who came together in response to failed top-down regeneration. 🤝 They’re behind an ambitious multi-use community property development project – and their other great work includes putting on community events and supporting local businesses and start-ups that address local needs. 🏚️ They’ve also embarked upon another ambitious project, The Cosy Homes Club, which aims to empower local people to ‘retrofit’ their homes to make them more comfortable and cheaper to run. 💡 “It’s about energy efficiency for all,” said Zero Carbon Neighbourhoods Project Lead Rachael Branton. “We’re investigating how we can achieve an efficient roll out of whole-house retrofit in Anfield and Everton, in a way that doesn’t leave anyone behind.” 💻 To that end, Homebaked CLT has been conducting research and has held training, talks and workshops on subjects including carbon literacy and DIY draft excluding. 🙋 “We’re working towards building a group of people in the area who have the knowledge and enthusiasm to work together to create change in their housing. It needs to come from the people in the area – we are aiming to create the conditions that allow people to do that.” ✊ Want to see more grassroots community empowerment like this? In 2019, Heritage Fund launched the Areas of Focus initiative, aimed at supporting regions with significant heritage potential that had historically received less funding. As this five-year commitment comes to an end in 2024, we created three videos for them focused on Newham, Enfield and Brent to celebrate the achievements and partnerships that have emerged. These videos were be showcased at celebratory events organised by the Heritage Fund in February and March 2024, featuring key stakeholders and grantees who have benefited from their support. Project Goals: * Highlighting Achievements: Showcasing the work and partnerships in each Area of Focus. * Community Engagement: Bringing heritage to life through the perspectives of grantees. * Versatile Content: Using a mixture of existing footage and new interviews to create impactful videos. Our strategic approach ensures that each video not only celebrates the success of the Areas of Focus initiative but also serves as a valuable tool for promoting heritage in these regions. #BirdLime #HeritageFund #AreasOfFocus #CaseStudy #VideoProduction #CommunityImpact #StrategicInitiatives
