In 2019, Heritage Fund launched the Areas of Focus initiative, aimed at supporting regions with significant heritage potential that had historically received less funding. As this five-year commitment comes to an end in 2024, we created three videos for them focused on Newham, Enfield and Brent to celebrate the achievements and partnerships that have emerged. These videos were be showcased at celebratory events organised by the Heritage Fund in February and March 2024, featuring key stakeholders and grantees who have benefited from their support. Project Goals: * Highlighting Achievements: Showcasing the work and partnerships in each Area of Focus. * Community Engagement: Bringing heritage to life through the perspectives of grantees. * Versatile Content: Using a mixture of existing footage and new interviews to create impactful videos. Our strategic approach ensures that each video not only celebrates the success of the Areas of Focus initiative but also serves as a valuable tool for promoting heritage in these regions. #BirdLime #HeritageFund #AreasOfFocus #CaseStudy #VideoProduction #CommunityImpact #StrategicInitiatives

KUA and network leaders connect to the Indigenous Guardians programs around the world. KUA's Kuaaina Advocate Olan Fisher and network leaders Billy Kinney Jr ( Hui Maka'ainana o Makana )and Jerome Kekiwi Jr. ( Na Moku Aupuni O Koolau Hui and theMaui Nui Makai Network )were privileged to contribute to a global gathering and discussion on Indigenous Guardian programs supported by funders like Nia Tero , Resources Legacy Fund , and The Christensen Fund to explore networks Indigenous Guardian Network. Though the closest thing Hawaii has to this is through Hawaii DLNR (Department of Land and Natural Resources) Makai Watch Program. We believe the state can continue to bolster this program and support greater place based community involvement in management especially in our rural Native Hawaiian communities. We will continue conversations about guardian programs for Hawai'i as Indigeous communities across the world continue to take up the Auamo. https://lnkd.in/gFRigFNY

Well said sir. Housing is the foundation of stability. There is something profoundly human about the need for a safe, stable place to call home. Housing isn’t just about having a roof over your head—it’s about creating a space where families can thrive, children can grow, and communities can flourish. A home provides more than shelter; it offers security, dignity, and a foundation for building a better life. When we strengthen access to quality, affordable housing, we aren’t just helping individuals—we’re empowering entire communities. This belief is what drives my passion for the work I do every day. Whether we’re helping develop housing, restoring communities, or providing deconstruction for materials resale, I know that we are contributing to something far greater than just the structures we work on. We are helping to create opportunities for stability, growth, and hope. Housing is more than a need—it’s a right. And it’s a cause we all care deeply about. Together, let’s build a future where every person can experience the safety and security that a stable home provides. #HousingMatters #CommunityDevelopment #AffordableHousing #Stability #MakingADifference #capefearhabitatforhumanity

Mt. Elbert in Sept 2023. Some ask why we summit Mt. Elbert when it takes 3 days and 50+ volunteers to serve 1 individual. It often comes into question if it is worth it when we could serve so many more in that timeframe with that team. Mt. Elbert is more than a single experience. It is symbolic of everything we are building together. It is emblematic of the glass ceiling we will continue to shatter as a community. We are the change, and if we can do this on Mt. Elbert year and year, and it becomes normal instead of "impossible", then every trail in every community can become adaptable through community strength. We can create something more inclusive and equitable in the mountains. For the record, we did create 110 other "impossible" trail experiences in 2023 :)
