As we head into October and reflect on the month that was, can't help but take a second to showcase one simple but genius piece of advice. Joel Blades, 12 year Marine Special Operations officer, turned mental performance coach to CEOs/c-suite joined us on the weekly, The Front Pack Show. During our discussion he reminded our members how we need to stay present and think about the day ahead versus focusing too far into the future. All too often we get so wrapped up in the result, we forget about the day. Keep the thing, the thing. What are you doing to stay present and focused?

🫠 So in this thumbnail I am either in the middle of a "hang on a minute" or an emphatic "laaaaads". 🤩 Anywho! Anna Keen joins Crystal and I because Anna wants to know - where are the next generation of safety pros? - who are they? - what do they need? - how do we find them? 💫 Favourite quote: "it takes a village to raise a safety professional" 💡Favourite insight: development doesn't need to be tied to progression - not everyone wants to be a director/head off/etc. 😵💫 I have a bit of a rant on my ick about "leadership", but please bear in mind, it's not a fully formed ick, I've yet to put my finger on what exactly is bothering me about it! 😅 💸 We also touch on how spenny conferences are 😭 🎧https://lnkd.in/eJ54Z7_8 #SafetyProfessionals #NextGen #HealthandSafety

#HappyThanksgiving to all #AVTweeps celebrating this weekend! 🇺🇸 🦃 Being born and raised in the UK, I didn’t know that this holiday was such a big deal - until I watched one of my all time fave films Planes, Trains and Automobiles! (♥️ John Candy)! But being grateful and thankful is something we definitely grew up with at home. The phrase which translates to ‘thanks and praise to God’ tripped off the tongue, even when bad things happened, and still does. Just no special day, Turkey or Perfection Salad #IYKYK 😆 I am so very grateful for my network, for industry peers and colleagues that have become great friends, and for the opportunities and voice I have at a time in the world where there is still oppression, war and sanctions for millions of people. So today, my HUGE thanks to Jeffrey Boggess Avocor for having this conversation with me about creating safe and positive work places where people can be authentic, supported to do well, and thrive at their jobs - which we should all be able to! Thank you also to Natalie Harris-Briggs for making it happen! 🙏🏼♥️ Enjoy the holiday, have fun those of you who are off, spare a thought for us still working, and maybe tune in, watch or listen to this episode! 🙏🏼♥️🦃 P.S. if you know of or ever had Perfection Salad, I want to know about it! #AskingForAFriend 😆 #PeopleMatter #DiversityMatters #EquityMatters #PositiveLeadership #CultureMatters #HappyWorkforce 🔗 Watch now:
