It's a wrap! The 2024 EuCNC & 6G Summit has been concluded. It was the most well attended event ever. The entire #6Gnetworks #research #ecosystem was represented there. #6G is still at its infancy and events like that contribute significantly to a bootstrapping procedure that defines the main pillars of activities that will lead by the end of the decade to the commercial launch of #6Gservices. 👉 Our ECE Department - University of Patras had a strong presence with several talks and booths presenting various Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU) #projects and associated #demos (FLEX-SCALE, PROTEUS-6G, 6G-XCEL, FIDAL PROJECT) while it's representatives contributed also to several panel discussions, alongside other Project Coordinators, Technical Managers, SNS Executives and Researchers who currently shape-up the #software and #hardware #technologies that will support #Europe's prevailing position in the next generation of #mobilenetworks. 👀 I am looking forward to see most of the #6Gcommunity at the next major event that covers the #business, #policies, #regulations and #standardization aspects: 5G Techritory (which will take place on 30-31st October 2024 at the beautiful city of Riga: https://lnkd.in/eRX5JsY). This paper amalgamates the cell-free system with another emerging technology, namely #reconfigurable #intelligent #surface (#RIS) to address the problem that the cell-free network inevitably brings in higher hardware cost and backhaul overhead, and channel fading in high-frequency bands. Lithuanians are discussing the #DOGE.LT proposal as a solution to tackle inefficiencies and bureaucracy - issues highlighted by Teltonika's struggles in building an innovative semiconductor fab and the challenges they encountered along the way. The #DOGE approach, suggested by Dalius Misiunas (https://lnkd.in/eRNBxhRb), focuses on forming teams dedicated to improving transparency and making incremental changes to the system. Meanwhile, I came across an interesting article that explores a very different path: Argentina’s current president, Javier Milei, famously dismantled a large portion of the government apparatus immediately upon taking office. Element Six invests in Lightsynq, a new US Quantum Interconnect company.
