Reflecting on the highs and lows of your day/week/month can do wonders for your development. Checking in with yourself regularly can enhance productivity, efficiency, and maintain a positive mindset. I've been doing exactly that, so I'd thought I'd share some of my takeaways: 💗 Prioritise your health and wellbeing. Nothing is more important than your health. Take action on issues that concern or hinder you. 🧠 Mindset is everything. Reframe negatives into positives, find the little wins, and ask yourself, "What's the best that could happen?" (Shout out to Britta for that one!). Maintaining a positive mindset can be challenging, but a negative internal narrative does more damage than needed. ✔ Find a system that works. Explore and find something that works for you to manage your everyday tasks. It could be an organisation platform like Notion (the BEST) or simple daily checklists. Life can be overwhelming, but finding a way to manage your tasks can help. ✉ Clear your inbox. Seriously, don't leave it for months on end (I'm guilty for this). A clear inbox equals a clear mind. 🚶♀️ Take a break! It's important to take breaks, especially when working from home. Get outside and take a walk. Whether you can spare 30 minutes or 10, it does the world of good for mental clarity. #selfreflection #productivity #healthandwellness #workfromhome

Over the years, I’ve learned some valuable strategies to minimize the avoidable stress that can come with running my business. Here’s my Top 3 tips: Set Clear Boundaries: One of the biggest sources of stress is the lack of boundaries. I communicate my office hours to clients and stick to them. This not only helps me maintain a work-life balance but also sets clear expectations with clients. Maintain Open Communication: Miscommunication can lead to unnecessary stress. I always make sure that communication with clients is clear and frequent. Regular check-ins and updates prevent misunderstandings and keep projects on track. Take Care of Your Health: Physical and mental health are crucial. I make it a point to take regular breaks, get some fresh air, and stay active. Exercise is a great stress reliever, and even a short walk can do wonders for your mental state. If you need to rest…rest. Take a nap when you need it and move your work hours to later that day. Ignoring your body’s signals is a one-way ticket to burnout town. Doing just these 3 things, I’ve managed to maintain a healthy, productive work environment. Remember, it’s not about eliminating stress entirely—some level of stress is inevitable—but about managing it effectively to keep it from becoming overwhelming. 🚩 Caution - this is not a fun one to read. 🚩 Being chronically busy is toxic. It's a form of avoidance. Here's how you know if you are on the freight train to burnout: 🔹 You say “yes” to everything, even when your plate is overflowing. 🔹 Self-care is something you think about, but never actually do. 🔹 The to-do list is endless, but your energy isn't. 🔹 Overwhelm has become your norm, not the exception. 🔹 You’re always busy, but deep down, you wonder if you're truly making progress. Busy isn’t the same as productive. The problem is that the hard truths we're avoiding are HARD! You can't be the person you want to be to all the people you love. You must choose. Choose between people you love. Your mind will always imagine that you can do more than your body can provide. You must let go of things you desperately want to do. You must choose between dreams you treasure. The only thing that got me over this heart-breaking hump was realizing the alternative. That I was half-assing everything in my attempt to do more. That I was not proud of myself in any area of my life. That's no way to live. What's the one relationship in your life that you will not half-ass? What the one self-expressive activity in your life that you will not half-ass? Hold onto those while you do the hard work of saying no or downsizing the other areas. What are your #1s? - - - Like what you see? (I'm thinking probably not so much today...) Does your overflowing calendar make you feel successful, or just exhausted? For the longest time, I believed that being busy was a sign of success. The more I had on my plate, the more accomplished I felt. But all it led to was burnout, stress, and a constant feeling of being overwhelmed. Here’s the truth I learned: it’s not really about prioritizing your tasks; it's about setting boundaries. Often, we fill our schedules to please others, to meet expectations, or to feel like we’re doing enough. But at what cost? If you’re always exhausted, you’re not truly living. Slowing down was the best decision I made for my mental and physical health. It allowed me to focus on what truly matters, to be present, and to find joy in the little moments. Take a moment today to look at your calendar. What’s one commitment you can drop to create more space for yourself? Remember, prioritizing your well-being isn’t selfish; it’s necessary for a fulfilling life. Your time is your most valuable asset. Use it wisely. 🕊️ #TimeManagement #SelfCare #WellBeing #MindsetShift #PersonalGrowth #SelfImprovement

Stress is an inevitable part of life, but it should not be the pervasive defining feature! A thriving life must have frequent times of rest, nurturing, connection, and fulfilment. How do we do that, when life is so full and busy? With constant requests to take on more? With an ever-filling email inbox? In this webinar I'm going to share an overarching framework as well as specific strategies you can use to radically shift the role of stress in your life, and your overall sense of wellbeing. Unlike a usual pass webinar, this is going to be run over zoom meetings, with a small group of participants, so you can ask questions and directly apply these concepts to your own life and challenges. Let's work together to shift your life so that it feels sustainable and manageable. I don't want you to go to bed each night dreading what tomorrow brings. https://lnkd.in/daZxcRRZ #burnout #wellbeing #burnoutrecovery #stressmanagement #workplacewellbeing #wellness #stress #worklifebalance #resilience #sustainability #leadershipgrowth

As we are still in May, we are still in #mentalhealthawarenessmonth, and I wonder how you have been? This last week I rolled out the Clear Your Head to Get Ahead programme to three new businesses, all looking to enhance the well-being of their employees so that they can be at their very best, every day, without being driven into burnout. And it's been fun. What is clear though, in all three companies, is that there is a lack of either resources and / or clarity both of which drive up the stress and anxiety tipping the scales in the wrong direction, into living in survival or stress. The word balance came up a few times because living in survival drive the nervous system into the "always on" position. Being able to switch it off sometimes is crucial to being able to redress that balance. Funnily enough and as if by some magical coincidence, chapter three, summarised in my tastes blog, is on just that topic.
