Islamic finance experts advise people to choose Sharia-compliant institutions for Zakat and charity. Some organizations collect donations but invest them in interest-based ways, against Islamic rules. Donors should research recipients, especially hospitals and NGOs. They should ask about fund collection, usage, and investments before giving. Organizations should make their financial records public and get Sharia audits. People donate during Ramadan, but they should avoid institutions using interest-based investments. Zakat should go to deserving individuals first, then to organizations. Scholars warn against donating to non-Sharia-compliant organizations. #ShariaCompliantDonations #sparkpakistan

Your aid donation and tax money probably ends up with the humanitarian products being sold on the black market. In the below report, the Aseel team literally goes through a black market in Kabul where the World Food Programme, and all other major humanitarian organization products are sold. This is the problem of our times, we think we don’t have enough funds to feed people living in humanitarian conditions, the reality is our systems are broken, this is not a resources problem, it’s a transparency problem. Think twice before you donate next time, or even better, choose a system that reports directly back to you with a proof of delivery like Aseel.

Ummazing 3.0 is right around the corner and with it some big things are being launched... The biggest is a Ramadan Race which has two elements attached: 1. A Real-Time Leaderboard - Where businesses can compete with one another to rank #1 in their respective category. There are 5 main ways businesses can gain points (these are laid out below). 2. Charity Component - Where a business can set a pledge and set an amount each upvote is worth and the business gives that in Sadaqah during this blessed month. Say a business pledges to donate £1,500 and they set each upvote to £1.50. If a business now gets 150 upvotes, the business will donate £225. Who's excited for the Ramadan Race? Because we sure are!

Do you consider yourself a charitable person? How does where you live compare to 142 other countries? I found this data really interesting. The Charities Aid Foundation, based on a Gallup 2023 survey of more than 145,000 respondents from 142 countries, examined the percentage of people who donated money to charity in the past month. The highest numbers of monetary donations were recorded in Indonesia – 90%, Myanmar – 78% and Malta – 74%. The lowest figures were recorded in Georgia, Botswana – 6%, in Tunisia and Yemen –7%. Fostering a culture of inclusivity during Ramadhan can have a positive impact on those that are observing fasting. Below are a few examples of small gestures. Consider participating in a sponsored fast and communal iftar during Ramadan if you're not fasting. Contribute to a meaningful charity, as Muslims globally donate over 4 billion pounds, a significant portion during Ramadan. Every eligible Muslim is encouraged to donate 2.5% of their remaining wealth at the end of the year to support those in need worldwide. #RamadanGiving #CharityImpac #inclusiveculture #diversityandinclusion

"How can #Bosnians invest in global #halal ETFs?" I can now say "You can #invest in them – for good!" Because this #Ramadan, Afterfund is coming to 🇧🇦 Instead of spending your donation immediately and providing a stipend for one month or one year -- we have created a fund where your #single #donation gets invested and profits #continuously provide new stipends for generations of orphans. This was a major undertaking in Afterfund’s partnership with #Dobro.ba, a charity founded 6 years ago that closely works with many other Bosnian charities such as Pomozi.ba, with a focus on providing aid for the poorest parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina. #Orphans have a great value in Islamic tradition and we are excited to enable our generation to perpetually support them through the “Stipends for Orphans” fund available at https://afterfund.co
