Why Insurance Company is focused in Persistency & What is this ? Persistency, in the context of insurance, refers to the percentage of policyholders who continue to pay their premiums and maintain their policies over a certain period of time. It's a measure of how well an insurer retains its customers. Persistency is usually calculated as: Persistency Ratio = (Number of policies in force at the end of the period / Number of policies in force at the beginning of the period) x 100 For example, if an insurer had 1000 policies at the start of the year and 900 policies at the end of the year, the persistency ratio would be 90%.
