Role of Christian Business Men and Women to Sahara Desert Missionary Engagement In today's fast-paced world, the role of Christian business men and women cannot be overlooked when it comes to missionary engagement, especially in a challenging and arid region like the Sahara Desert. These individuals possess a unique set of skills, resources, and passion that can greatly benefit mission projects and create a lasting impact. Whether it's through funding, expertise, or simply spreading awareness, their contributions are invaluable. One organization that exemplifies the value of Christian business men and women in missionary engagement is Royal Missionary Outreach International (RMOI). RMOI works tirelessly to bring the light of the gospel to the people living in the heart of the Sahara Desert. They have various mission projects aimed at enhancing the lives of the locals, including access to clean water, education, healthcare, and more. However, these mission projects often face a shortage of funds. This is where the support of Christian business men and women becomes crucial. These individuals have the financial capacity and entrepreneurial spirit to donate generously to such causes. Their donations can help RMOI expand its reach, increase its impact, and transform countless lives in the process. But it's not just about monetary contributions. Christian business men and women also offer their expertise and skills to missionary engagement in the Sahara Desert. They can provide valuable insights on sustainable business models, helping empower the local communities and create long-term solutions to alleviate poverty. Their knowledge of marketing, supply chain management, and finance can lead to the successful implementation of income-generating projects, ensuring the mission projects are self-sustaining. Furthermore, Christian business men and women have a significant influence within their spheres of influence – big businesses, small businesses, and Christian families. By leveraging their networks, they can raise awareness about the mission projects happening in the Sahara Desert. Through their influential platforms, they can encourage others to donate, volunteer, or even consider careers in missionary work. To sum it up, the involvement of Christian business men and women in missionary engagement in the Sahara Desert is invaluable. Through their financial contributions, expertise, and influence, they can make a lasting impact on the lives of people in need. Their dedication to philanthropy and their faith-driven desire to make a difference sets them apart. So let's come together, support organizations like RMOI, and play our part in building a brighter future for the people of the Sahara Desert. Why a Bridge? One of the interesting stories I heard during my wide consultations before starting Elim House Missions is about missionaries visiting churches to speak to the congregation with hopes of raising (mostly financial) support. Where the church authorities permit the missionaries to address the congregation, an offering would typically be taken afterward for the missionaries. However, in some (or many?) cases, only a small part of such offerings (50% or less) would be given to the missionaries while the church would keep the rest. The missionaries would be informed that the church pastor is also a missionary. I am not claiming that this happens most of the time, but from what I heard, it has happened and probably still happens. As much as I appreciate churches supporting missionaries as a unit, I am of the view that it doesn't make for effective support; at least not the way it is mostly run. By "...the way it is mostly run", I mean a situation where a 'missions offering' is taken and general prayers raised periodically to support missionaries. My argument is: 1. Such offerings quickly become merely ceremonial. Church members are not giving with awareness of a real need. They give because they were asked and so don't give much. 2. Research has shown that only about 0.1% of all Christian giving is directed toward mission efforts in the 38 most unevangelized countries. This general statistic gives a slight indication of just how much of the typical offering actually goes to missions. 3. There is a vast number of interdenominational missionaries who are not sponsored by a denomination or church. Giving in churches tends to go (if at all) only to the missionaries under the church's payroll, leaving a large population of missionaries unsupported. 4. There is a difference between support for the mission work and support for the missionary. Here's a question: compared to the number of times you have given towards buying Bibles or building a local church on a mission field (etc.), how many times have you given towards the feeding or schooling of children of missionaries? 5. Supporting missionaries is more than giving money. Many Christians are so far removed from missionaries that if you ask them to pray for missionaries, they draw blank. There is no real burden in their hearts because they are not aware of the needs of missionaries. These are some reasons Elim House Missions operates as a bridge of love, care, welfare, and support between Christians and missionaries. Our model allows us to aggregate the resources our partners provide but also allows our partners to have direct interactions with the missionaries. This way, there is a real connection, making the support our partners provide more than a chore or mere ceremony. Our partners enjoy the privilege of seeing the real impact they make in the lives and families of the missionaries we support. Join us at https://lnkd.in/d2jPB9Mk

We are always deeply grateful for Native Americans in Philanthropy’s contributions to the philanthropic space, including educational posts like this. Using correct terminology is critical to disrupting dehumanization. Reposted from Native Americans in Philanthropy's page: Native American? Native? Indigenous? Because terminology for Indigenous people is complex, personal, and nuanced, it is crucial to center Indigenous voices when learning how to respectfully reference Native nations and Indigenous communities. This includes understanding the differences between names Indigenous people claim for themselves, and the ones given to them by a broader culture. 🚨 Research note of the WEEK! 🚨 Faith-based Fundraising and Engagement in Post-Communist Czech Republic 📄 In the Czech Republic, religiosity is decreasing, and distrust in church institutions is on the rise. Despite this, volunteerism and revenue have consistently increased for Caritas Czech Republic’s primary fundraising initiative. This study explores religiosity and trust in the church in the context of fundraising and volunteerism for faith-based organizations in post-communist Czech Republic. Caritas Czech Republic’s door-to-door Three Kings Collection (TKC) fundraiser communicates a religious message yet has increased volunteerism and revenues annually. One reason for success may be that Czech society can distinguish between institutional church distrust and the social services Caritas provides. For Caritas, fundraising is part of a larger mission to connect society. ✒Author(s): Jakub Dostál - College of Polytechnics, Jihlava | Vladimír Hyánek – Masaryk University 📝 The Research note is written by Peter Stemp from La Salle Foundation. 🔔 More research notes! Throughout history congregations have played a significant role in developing philanthropy, teaching people to give, supporting program development, and serving communities in unique ways. As we continue to see changing religiosity in the U.S., giving to religion continues to decline according to Giving USA Foundation. Yet as noted in Inside Philanthropy, the numbers may not tell the whole story as giving to religion is narrowly defined to "congregations, religious media and missionary societies." Some speculate that religious giving could be as high as 73% if it counted giving to faith-based organizations like Islamic Relief USA, or The Salvation Army. #religiousgiving #philanthropymatters

🔸 When we interviewed Londoners, most of them agreed that those who are “well off” should give to those less fortunate. But what does “well off” actually mean when put into context of the entire world? We spoke to an economist. 🔸 #EffectiveGiving #Economy #Philanthropy #GlobalHealth
