Is this you? Running around like a headless chicken (or muddy dog!) trying to get everything done before you finish up for Christmas? Let’s face it, we are all blooming busy without the addition of Christmas. We have overflowing ‘to do’ lists, trying to cram in work, life, home, kids, fun and some much needed sleep. Then come December, every year without fail, we ramp it up! Not just once notch, but about 20 or 30! We are desperately trying to complete that overflowing ‘to do’ list in record time. We have now added to it, with all the present buying, menu planning, house decorating etc, etc. And on top of that, there’s all those extra social engagements we have to go to. Whereas all we really want to do is curl up on the sofa, or have an early night, because we’re already exhausted! It’s okay to slow down for Christmas, not speed up. It’s okay to do Christmas your way. We put so much pressure on ourselves to make each year perfect, better than the last, when we all know, there’s no such thing as perfect. I’m one of the lucky ones. No one is putting pressure on me to do Christmas their way. What’s one thing you can do to ease the pressure of Christmas for you this year? Video of Nell being Nell! Having fun and doing the build up to Christmas her way! #christmas #toomuch #slowdown #busy #pressure

Do You Also Hate Christmas Time? Let’s change that. This year, simplify and bring back the joy of the holidays. 1. Presents: *Give to charity instead of exchanging gifts.* 2. Christmas Tree: *Use fewer decorations instead of a ton of ornaments for a big tree.* 3. Cooking: *Order food instead of spending hours cooking; make just one dish.* 4. New Year's Eve: *Stay home with family instead of planning a big party; enjoy a movie night.* 5. Cleaning: *Tidy the dining area instead of cleaning the whole house.* 6. Shopping: *Shop online instead of dealing with crowds in stores.* 7. Gifts for Everyone: *Do a one-gift exchange instead of buying for everyone.* 8. Holiday Parties: *Have a cozy gathering instead of a large party.* 9. Baking: *Bake one favorite treat instead of many different things.* 10. Decorating: *Keep decorations simple instead of going overboard.* Which one of these will you choose to make your holidays easier this year❓ Let’s take a step back, simplify our tasks, and enjoy the holidays! 🎅 #HateChristmasTime #SimplifyYourSeason #JoyfulCelebrations #StressFreeFestivities #Change #PersonalDevelopment

No matter what kind of Christmas you're planning. Humble or extravagant there are jobs to be done before you get to the table and everyone is ready to enjoy the turkey. All your thoughtful preparations have led to this moment, so let’s take care of a few last-minute tasks to ensure a smooth, joyful Christmas Day. Start by tidying up shared spaces like the living room and dining area – a quick reset keeps things calm and welcoming for family and friends. Set out the table for Christmas dinner in advance with a festive touch, whether it’s a sprig of holly, candles, or personalised place cards. Preparing the table now gives you one less task for the morning and lets you focus on the fun and food! 🌟 And gives to time to actually enjoy doing it, rather than it being a 'job'. Check that all presents are wrapped and labelled, and if you’re filling stockings, add a few small surprises like chocolates or mini gifts to make the morning extra special. 🎁 Lay out cosy throws, and festive cushions, and have a tin of biscuits or mince pies at the ready for that perfect Christmas atmosphere. Every no is an opportunity to say yes to something better. Hosting Thanksgiving is often a balancing act of trying to fit everything in and make it all “perfect.” This year I intentionally chose a different approach. I said no to the things that didn’t bring me joy or meaning, so I could say yes to what truly matters. Here’s what I let go of: ► Checking email or scrolling social media ► Making dishes that don’t spark joy (no stuffing!) ► Cooking everything on Thanksgiving day ► Stressing over a perfectly clean and decorated home Here’s what I gained: ► Time to call and message people who matter ► Sweet, uninterrupted moments with my family ► Real memories captured with my good camera ► Permission to myself to lean into the joy of Christmas music and decor. It makes me happy, so why wait? TIME Real, unhurried time to just BE. We can’t say yes to everything and when we try, we often lose what matters most in the shuffle. As I reflect on Thanksgiving, I’m reminded that sometimes the best memories come from focusing less on doing and more on being. What strikes me most is how often we cling to the idea of “doing it all,” even when it doesn’t serve us. Letting go of the unnecessary gave me room to enjoy Thanksgiving rather than be hurried. As we step into the rest of the holiday season, I’m carrying this mindset with me. Because the best memories aren’t built on perfection, they’re built on presence. What’s one thing you’re saying no to this season so you can say yes to what matters most?

I LOVE DECEMBER; part 1 I believe November can be used to carefully think about how you want to spend Christmas, how much money you want and CAN spend, what you want to eat and drink, who you want to spend Christmas with and most importantly, how you can turn this into an enjoyable experience. Very soon, when time allows me to do so I will -start making a list for who I would like to make or purchase a gift - start looking around shops and markets - emphasize on local and independent shops and businesses - start purchasing and baking some German biscuits - arrange who we will see for Christmas - think about small gifts for the Advent Calendar - make sure I do have plenty of candles - buy at least one more Christmas decoration -book in a December experience as a big treat for us. Will you join me with any of the above? x (if you haven't read my intro post to make it clearer what I am on about, please have a look as I posted that one on Friday)

🎄 Simplify Christmas: Start with a Plan A few years ago, I remember rushing around the week before Christmas. I hadn’t planned properly, and the stress hit me like a freight train. There were presents I still needed to buy, food to prepare, and the house was a mess. By the time Christmas Day arrived, I felt exhausted instead of excited. That year taught me an important lesson: Christmas shouldn’t feel like a marathon. So, now, every year in early December, I sit down on a Sunday with a cup of tea, a notebook, and a pen. I write down everything that needs to happen before Christmas: 🎁 Presents to buy (and for whom!) 🥧 Food to bake or prepare 🗓️ People to see or visit 🧹 Cleaning and decorating tasks Once it’s all on paper, I create a timetable and spread the tasks out over the next two weeks. This simple process has transformed the holidays for me. By tackling a little bit each day, I can avoid last-minute panic and actually enjoy the festive season. ✨ The lesson I’ve learned is this: Planning ahead removes stress and helps you focus on the joy of the season. You’ll feel calmer, more in control, and better able to enjoy the moments that matter. So, why not start today? Take 15 minutes to write your list, and you’ll thank yourself later! 🎅 What’s the first thing on your list? Share it in the comments! 🎄❤️ #ChristmasPlanning #SelfCareSunday #HolidayHappiness
