While we are thrilled with all that our EMPOW-Her ERG has achieved, we are particularly proud of their efforts during October's Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We celebrated the strength and resilience of RealPage survivors and partnered with foundations like Susan G. Komen, which inspired the entire organization. Our support extended globally, reaching the Grace Cancer Foundation in India and contributing to the Modern Filipina Breast Cancer Event in the Philippines. There's so much more to say about their accomplishments – we are so proud of all the members of EMPOW-Her!

Always heard, anecdotally and through my own personal experience, how hard it is for men to get a PSA test because of GP intransigence. However, now we have real data to support this from Prostate Cancer Research ......... 70% of the challenge in accessing a PSA test directly relates to GP barriers. Prostate Cancer charities need to engage with Royal College of General Practitioners to bring down these barriers. See the full report at www.pcr.org.uk/PFYP which has key recommendation of testing at-risk men at 40. Also recommend excellent paper on utility of PSA testing as an entry to multi-parametric MRI-enabled diagnostic pathway at https://lnkd.in/gbf7eDSe.

Since 1994, the National Breast Cancer Foundation has invested $232 million in 642 breast cancer research projects. In this time: • The death rate from breast cancer has reduced by over 40%. • The five-year relative survival rate for breast cancer has increased to 92%. As someone who was born only one year prior to this, it is truly incredible to be able to look at these achievements and reflect on how much has changed just within my lifetime. I am grateful every day for the opportunity to work alongside individuals and organisations whose contributions made all of this possible, and who continue to work with us towards a future of Zero Deaths from breast cancer 💕 If you’d like to know more about the impact made over the last 30 years, please read our Impact Report: https://lnkd.in/ghgpc8zM

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a crucial time to remind ourselves and our loved ones about the importance of early detection and healthy lifestyle choices. Myth: Men do not get breast cancer, it affects only women. Here are six key steps to help reduce your risk: 1. Learn more about your family’s history of breast and other cancers. 2. Ask your doctor to do a breast cancer risk assessment and confirm when you should be screened. 3. Eat more fruits, vegetables, and whole grains - and cut back on meat. 4. Reduce your alcohol consumption and quit smoking. 5. Find a form of regular exercise that you enjoy and will stick to. 6. Get to know your breasts’ normal and call your doctor if you experience any significant changes. Taking these steps can make a significant difference in your health and well-being. Let’s spread the word and support each other in the fight against breast cancer. 💖 #BreastCancerAwareness #Health #Wellness #Prevention #TechInPink2024 #bcrf.org #TheEsteeLauderCompanies #PinkAtWipro #Ying Zheng #Larisa Kogan #Madhavi Devasani #Swapnil K. #Vinay Kavde #Narayani Venkatesh #Indhupriya Gowthamaraja #Shashidhar Lakshminarayana #Jisha Divakaran #Teresa Lopez
